**UPDATED:** All four volumes of Vivid LIFE are now available in English: **[Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Vivid LIFE (English) \[ron\].zip](https://mediafire.com/?7bbvwh4dfvsxje0)** \________________________________________________________ This movie's official subs were noticeably worse than Reflection's which were already awful. I immediately gave up on editing them and just started from scratch. I did a tally of their translation mistakes this time. I did not count lines that had poor grammar, vague meanings, or awkward phrasings since that might've included about half the script. Judging by that lenient standard, **the official BD subs had 231 mistranslated lines**. They were utter garbage. They even got the movie's ending completely wrong. The video is my own rip and encode using the same settings as always. The 720p version is 8-bit and should play on almost any device that supports softsubs while the 1080p version is 10-bit for those seeking the highest quality. This 1080p copy is twice as big as Reflection's, but it's simply due to this video not compressing nearly as well because of constant motion and gradients in the backgrounds. The 1080p MKV also includes a surround sound audio track in addition to the same stereo track as the 720p version. And in case you need to catch up on the series, here's the past four years' worth of Nanoha BDs. I've got a seedbox hosting them, but any help is very appreciated. Please note that the torrent descriptions include links to assorted extras. 2016 - **\[ron\] Nanoha Vivid BD batch** - [**10-bit 1080p**](//nyaa.si/view/877343) or [**8-bit 720p**](//nyaa.si/view/877931) 2017 - **\[ron\] Vivid Strike! Wow, that was fast! Looking forward to subs that are easier to understand than watching it raw. :D Do you have any plans to go back and do any of the previous series? I'd love to have a complete collection from you with the same high quality. Will be seeding on my seedbox for at least 1TB, longer if I can spare the space on the seedbox.
Thanks! i was waiting for this, love u <3

Triad did a great job with the first two seasons. There's nearly no room for improvement. I practically based my translation style off of theirs. And I'd similarly recommend Doki for the first two movies. On the other hand, StrikerS is somewhat neglected. I've seen at least two different scripts for it and can't strongly endorse either, but they're still very watchable. It's a long series with a lot of military babble so I'm sure it wasn't fun to sub. And it's so old that I doubt there's much demand for new scripts when almost everyone who wants to watch it probably has. So no, I do not have current plans to redo any of the older content. I'm sufficiently proud of my current level of contribution given that I've single-handedly subbed more Nanoha than any group has.
Thanks for your hardwork
Thanks for your contributions! Glad I waited this long with watching.
Thanks for your hard work! I saw Reflection in theaters, so I'll probably rewatch with your release before going on to Detonation. Maybe even go ahead and watch the first two movies as well since it's been a while since I saw the series. Could be a fun way to watch through them all. Now if only my moving company would quit being terrible and get my stuff up here.
Triad subs may be good, but... avi ._. Was hoping to upgrade to BD+yoursubs from my archived DVD copies from Exiled-Destiny that was released a decade ago. XD
Thanks for fix subs!!
@deadman80 the BD raws aren't very good at least for S1 and somewhat S2. The upscaling isn't completely bad as it often happens but it still does a mix of detail-losing smoothing and what is worse, there is some sharpening used that fucks up little detail so that the stuff doesn't look good, it harms the animation quality. So I prefer the [RG-AF] R2J DVDrips. They had subs ripped from Triad IIRC, or they could be added if not. What would be best for S1-S2 and likely for S3 too: making a fresh new as-good-as-possible encode from the japanese DVDs with full yatta IVTC and handling things like the interlaced scenechanges and so on, but it is simply too much manual work, I can't do it myself any more (I wanted in the past...)
Thanks for that, when I get some time I will rewatch Reflection + Detonation together using your subs. For Detonation I watched the official subs, but fortunately I know japanese enough to at least notice the big errors like the ending one. My impression was that whoever made the official subs didn't have access to the video (and maybe not even the audio), so they just translated some lines individually without realizing they were all part of a single context.
Absolutey based holy shit
Thank you very much for your work. I hope you don't mind, but I am going to use your subs for a HQ 720p version. Yes, I know that for some people "HQ 720p" is an oxymoron, but my goal is to provide the best possible quality in the 720p format. This is not a jab at your 720p release. I'm sure people with very weak PCs appreciate it.
1080p doesn't existe really for this video, it's just a upscale 720p to 1080p for the BD. But do what you want but if you are creazyman for the quality, choose 720p version only.
This was a movie, not a TV anime. 1080p is most likely native.
Awesome work. Can't wait to see how this trilogy ends.
Can you make corrections for DanMachi : Orion no Ya movie officials subs https://nyaa.si/view/1156530 People are saying that the official subs are bad
Ron is absolutely right. I was already translating the film from the original subtitle and wondered if the American translator had at least seen the first film. Thanks, Ron.

I wondered the same thing, Foxy. I'm pretty sure Detonation's BD subs were made by a different person than Reflection's. In Detonation, they stopped using nicknames like "Sterny" and even refused to use "Amita" at all, always using "Amitie" even though almost nobody ever calls her that. There were a few other differences that also made the whole script feel like it'd been done in a different style in addition to being lower quality. It's not surprising at all. Movies like this are typically contracted out to whoever is willing to translate them for the least pay. There's no incentive to stick with the same person. They don't give a damn about the meager number of international sales, especially when most customers aren't even remotely capable of judging the quality of a translation. Good luck again with your Italian subs. You other guys are on your own to decide which raws are best for the earlier seasons. I was only talking about sub quality since that's my main thing. And I really appreciate all the support from my fellow Nanoha fans. I don't exactly do this for the money and women.
Thanks for the Subs!!! Already have the Animate Limited Edition at home. Was just waiting for better subs to watch it!
@TheRon: According to Holo (Doki), the A's movie script already wasn't "faithful to the Japanese". If Reflection and Detonation are even worse, then it's not surprising that Doki didn't pick them up yet. Anyway, thanks for your effort. If it's fine with you, I'll use your release for my own version of the subs (will credit you, of course). Is there a way to contact you outside of here (irc, mail, etc)?
