The only hope for mankind's survival lies in the Evangelion, a humanoid fighting machine developed by NERV, a special United Nations agency. Capable of withstanding anything the Angels can dish out, the Evangelions' one drawback lies in the limited number of people able to pilot them. Only a handful of teenagers, all born fourteen years ago, nine months after the Angels first appeared, are able to interface with an Evangelion. One such teenager is Ikari Shinji, whose father heads the NERV team that developed and maintains the Evangelions. We haven’t included the original TV broadcast episodes. The small MKV file contains an edition with all episodes chained without any opening, ending nor preview in between. Good for marathoning. It also contains the series’ storyboard (cbz archive) as attachment and the encoding source code. Translation: – For some reason the Italian audio previews are longer than the Japanese video previews. – There are some dialogues “hidden” in the ending of the episode 16 that weren’t translated in French. Most of these lines came from episode 20. We added them. – Again in French, we added missing dialogues in the prologue of episode 21 (about the Lance of Longinus), and subliminal or stroboscopic writings in a few places. – Sephirotic did an amazing job at translating and editing the series in Portuguese from scratch. Video processing: – Most grain has been filtered, but we kept it more or less intact on delicate scenes. – A few episodes have been color-corrected: 1 and 2 had their colored tint removed, and 19 was fully regraded, thanks to Sephirotic. – Episode 16 film has been lost by the studio, the Blu-ray version is an average upscale from an old SD master. We tried to improve its aspect to make it more consistent with the other episodes. We did the same with a few previews that came from SD masters. – Episodes 1, 3, 10 and 12 suffered from “decimation errors”. Lot of scenes had abnormal jerky animations that were smooth on the DVD edition. We fixed most of them. – The lineart was often surrounded with colored halos, like a chromatic aberration, sometimes very pronounced. We tried to fix it to make the black lines stronger and sharper. Les épisodes 21 à 24 inclus ici sont les versions _Director’s Cut_. Nous n’avons pas jugé utile d’ajouter les anciennes versions diffusées initialement à la télévision. Le petit fichier MKV contient une édition constituée de tous les épisodes enchaînés mais sans générique ni bande-annonce. Idéal pour marathonner la série. Il contient également le storyboard de la série (archive cbz) ainsi que les script de transcodage. Traduction : – Le son des bande-annonces italiennes est plus long que la vidéo japonaise correspondante. – Il y a des dialogues « cachés » dans le générique de fin de l’épisode 16 qui n’ont pas été traduits en français. La plupart de ces répliques viennent de l’épisode 20. Nous les avons rajoutées. – Toujours en français, nous avons rajoutés un dialogue manquant dans le prologue de l’épisode 21 parlant de la lance de Longin. Nous avons également rajouté la traduction de plusieurs messages subliminaux ou stroboscopiques à divers endroits. – La traduction en portugais a été entièrement revue par Sephirotic. Traitement vidéo : – Le gros du grain a été filtré, mais nous avons gardé les scènes les plus délicates intactes afin de bien préserver tous les détails. – Les couleurs de certains épisodes ont été rééquilibrées. Les épisodes 1 et 2 souffraient d’un léger voile coloré. Quant à l’épisode 19, il a été revu entièrement, grâce au travail minutieux de Sephirotic. – Le film original de l’épisode 16 ayant été perdu par le studio, l’édition Blu-ray ne fait figurer qu’un agrandissement médiocre d’un ancien master en basse définition. Nous avons essayé d’en améliorer le résultat pour rendre son aspect plus agréable et plus proche de celui des autres épisodes. – Les épisodes 1, 3, 10 et 12 souffraient d’erreurs de « décimation ». L’animation de nombreuses scènes était saccadée, quand les éditions DVD étaient parfaitement fluides. Nous en avons corrigé l’essentiel. – Les traits étaient souvent entourés de halos colorés, comparables à de l’aberration chromatique. Quelque fois l’effet était très prononcé.
