# Tenki no Ko ![tenki-no-ko](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/qgrk7r1fV4IjuoeiGS5HOhXNdLJ.jpg) **[MAL](https://myanimelist.net/anime/38826)** ## [MediaInfo](https://paste.sh/zQ7kjP_7#OBsuHFcv82TlKKbmRLE0CDNu) ---- **Source:** [Beatrice-Raws](https://nyaa.si/view/1528438) & [Judas](https://nyaa.si/view/1253141) **Video:** 2160p AV1 10bit DV HDR10 **HDR Format:** Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dav1.10.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible **Audio:** Japanese 5.1 (256k Opus) **Subtitles:** Arabic, English(Honorifics), English, French, Indonesian, Spanish. **Encoder used:** rav1e 4/08/2023 with Dolby Vision patch, libopus 1.4. **rav1e settings:** `--speed 5 --quantizer 60 --tiles 4 --range limited --primaries BT2020 --transfer SMPTE2084 --matrix BT2020NCL --dovi-rpu RPU.bin --no-scene-detection` photon noise 3 **Encoding time:** ~4 days on AMD Ryzen 5 2600. **Note:** Yes, you heard that right, AV1-encoded video with PROPER Dolby Vision metadata on it. I know there's probably 9999 AV1 encodes of Tenki No Ko out there, but this one is special because its the first AV1 releases on Nyaa that has DV on it. Previously AV1 could only use the regular HDR format but since quietvoid made a PR introducing support for encoding with Dolby Vision using RPU file obtained from dovi_tool, its now possible with rav1e. Can confirm HDR works on my laptop. It took me 4 days to encode because rav1e uses so much RAM even my 16GB of RAM isn't enough for 3 workers. You need a capable CPU to play if your device doesn't have AV1 HWDEC support. When watching a heavy rain scene, my CPU usage goes up to ~60% while using MPV, plays on my Snapdragon 870 android phone by using MPV but need to disable battery saver for smooth experience. Big thanks to RAV1NE for sharing the method! **Slowpoke:** https://slow.pics/c/opFU90b8

I haven't pooped today yet
People are always acting like the companies Amazon, Apple, ARM, Cisco, Facebook, Google, Huawei, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla, Netflix, Nvidia, Samsung and Tencent will be using predominantly AV1 as their video codec. I'll wait for the 4k xvid release.
Is there currently a device that is currently capable of hardware decode AV1 with DV output in an mkv container? Were you able to test this on a DV-compatible display and playback device?
Honestly asking where is the meme here?
