Very good info, thanks :) I know what you mean vs 4k to BR. It is all about source, transfer & edit. If you ever buy Gunbuster the best version is actually DVD... if only the BR hadn't been so badly edited.

@Dryvern, i had Gunbuster on laserdisc, but sold it decades ago with Kimagure Orange Road, i regret selling them.

The best looking BD release of Cagliostro is the 2014 remaster by Studio Ghibli, which Discotek used for their normal Blu. The Studio Canal released is based on a 1080i version by VAP, which seems based off a dated master.

@H94, i brought this blu ray version a long time ago way before the Discotek version got release (i think this was one of the early english version on blu ray of this film after the japan release), at the time i looking for the (Manga, 2000 English dub audio) which was voice by David Hayter on the DVD version, but wasn't included in this version. I do have the audio for the (Manga, 2000 English dub) and tried to mux it but it's out of sync. If you read wiki they say this version is much superior "The StudioCanal release is of superior quality with its new high definition transfer, but the credits for the film are absent." I've never seen the Discotek media version, but if it includes the (Manga, 2000 English dub) than I'm happy with it :) I wasn't happy when i found out this version did not come with the audio i was looking for, wasted money, but the picture quality looks nice. Is there a remux of the Discotek media version on here? Not lupin, Discotek media also release the 4k Space Adventure Cobra, but didn't even included the very first english dub which had the yello soundtrack or original cast from the VHS? but if you look at the french version 4k they included the yello soundtrack...

@H94, is this the Discotek Media version https://nyaa.si/view/1274606 ? cause it has the correct voice audio included in the Discotek version, it also has the one i like (Manga, 2000 English dub audio) David Hayter. I added side by side pictures, my remux pictures StudioCanal are on the left side, the right side is the Discotek Media version.
