Will you be doing season 2 by any chance as well? Already nearly finished your season 1 release (thanks a lot for the great quality release by the way).

As of this time, my subtitle guy has decided to call it quits. I don’t anticipate any new fansub projects in the future unless I can find someone.

@FMA1394 Ah thanks for the heads up, that really sucks. Maybe try a joint? Such as with PAS (https://pas.moe/), Harunatsu or another group? It’s such a highly praised series and season 1 was amazing, so would be disappointing to not see any good releases for season 2. But yeah if you’re too busy IRL, then I understand.

@FMA1394 Is this translation/source of ep 1 the same as here https://nyaa.si/view/937765? I see @AMCGrady mentioned in both places, and I’d like 1080p for the pilot at least. Is episode 1 subs here unchanged from the earlier release, or were they edited? In the latter case, could someone please provide edited subs if they are compatible with [Storyteller] Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu - 01 [ Director’s Cut Ver. ] [BD][1080p].mkv?

To anyone wondering, yes this includes the directors cut for episode 1.

@Enchained Subtitles are better here, the storyteller subtitles are styled poorly and have bad padding to the point where some lines go right to the edge of the screen. The subtitles here also have a better translation and lines are split more often instead of having really long lines. [storyteller] release audio tracks are 2.5gb alone, i don’t understand why people still use 24-bit flac, and using 24-bit flac ontop of a surround sound 24-bit DTS track is really overkill and bloats the filesize.

I can’t talk on the encode itself or if it even warrants 1080p, but FMA1394 would’ve likely done a 1080p encode if he deemed it worthy.
