(or) Two supernatural beings play a game of chess with historical warriors from various eras and countries. By the same creators of Hellsing Ultimate, but disappointing. I dropped it twice, I had to force myself to finish it. Alucard had such a gloriously evil presence, but all the Drifters characters are lame assholes. It was revolutionary for equality to have Integra as a stern female leader. But Drifters is sexist. A woman is only a pair of big tits to trivialize sexual assault. They made an intolerable cross dresser and mocked him, to discriminate against anyone in the grey zone between gender stereotypes. Hellsing ultimate revealed the full story, it had quantum physics, inspiring even more awe than time travel. But Drifters is as dull as watching people play a game of chess. The tactics are shit. Nothing feels trilling. The humor is annoying. The characters aren't endearing. The anime has no soul. Anime means animation, not beautiful drawings that are too detailed for the inbetweeners to animate fluidly. That's why the other animes don't try to make the characters look this good. They make gorgeous backgrounds instead, but Drifters is just plain black even during the day, it's dull. There's a frame rate problem and it breaks the illusion that the art is alive. They used cheap tricks to avoid real animation: nauseating shaky cams and making someone step in front of a character walking towards us. They couldn't even animate the mouth in sync with the words... This is bad animation. Don't be fooled by superficial drawings when every other aspect clearly lacks passion. Characters claiming to be cool are not. They even managed to destroy the melodic fluidity of the Japanese language, with a fake one based on Latin. It's painful to hear to voice actors struggle while reading gibberish. It stops at ep 04, but my irritated despise didn't. They also ruined the flow of the dark mood with lame humor. But instead to use the oversimplified drawings as an easier opportunity to offer a vigorous animation, it's even lamer and just lazy. Mob psycho 100 is the best animation that I have ever seen, done by the web artist ONE, who might not have the skills of a standard manga artist, but knows how to bring drawings to life and give characters a soul. Drifters wasn't even good as a violent anime, too much childish arguing, not enough blood, especially considering that it's the only thing that it has to offer. It's as disappointing as the new Berserk. Even the first Pokemon movie with Mewtwo had more epic battles and a badass character... \*sigh\* I make mostly psycho torrents so I have to make this one, but anything else in my list is better... "Youjo Senki - Saga of Tanya the Evil" was superior in every way, well balanced, everything was done with passion and it's extremely trilling... You clearly see the people get dismembered in the light, their screams are very satisfying, and you jubilate to see inspiring characters win. I watched it first so Drifters looked clearly mediocre, especially by comparison. I'll make the batch right after, so you can rinse your eyes. I had to watch Tanya twice. Maybe you won't notice how bad Drifters is, most people didn't... or Hellsing fans are in the denial stage of grief... I've reached anger. Try to enjoy... Violent shows are rare, but it doesn't even have enough blood. My love for Hellsing couldn't make me swallow this sugar coated shit blindly.
