For this release, we’ve got two video options available.philosophy-rawshas provided us with a nice 480p 10 bit encode of the DVD, which is apparently free of the artifacts introduced by the somewhat poor conversion to HD done on the BluRay. However, because there must be a BluRay release if it’s a CTR release, I’ve also included a version fromHaibane-Fans. For both, subtitles were taken fromCoalgirlssubs, which was based on the R1 set. I’ve unlinked them from ordered chapters and resynced them to the DVD and BluRay.
Enjoy.

CTR Releases: Collecting the best available sources around the internet and packing them up so you don’t have to. My releases cater specifically to English audio viewers, though Japanese viewers are of course welcome. More details can be found on the individual release threads or at my index on Kametsu, where you can also pitch me on whatever shows I go after next.
Enjoy.

Zetren
English subtitles are not working, they do not display. Unless you don’t mind resorting to the dub, I do not recommend this.
Lostx1
@Zetren the subtitles are reversed, the japanese subtitles are the english subtitles.
Korakys
I tried four different releases and this was the best one. Thank you.

I’m going to ramble about the video quality a bit.
I grabbed six of the english torrents with seeds. Two of them are based on the DVD (Note: They are based on different DVD releases) while the rest are BR.
The DVD video has brighter colors.
https://nyaa.si/view/237396 and https://nyaa.si/view/886209 are the DVD versions. Of the two cestfait looks much better (but has only jp audio).
The BR video is upscale of the 480p video, it has some noticeable upscaling artifacts and the colors are duller than in the DVD version. It doesn’t really matter much which one you download as the upscaling blurriness will be dominating the video. The only noticeable difference I saw was that the Coalgirls video is slightly stretched vertically compared to others.
The 720p DmonHiro or the DB 1080p torrent would be my choice. They are much smaller than the rest while being basically indistinguishable (they are about same size).
In the end I would go as far to say that the BR video is not better than the DVD (maybe even worse). Someone should create a dual audio torrent based on the DVD video (and could throw other language subs in there too because they often can’t keep seeders on their own).

@ olio2 a long time has passed since you posted, Its better to expect less than more, from a 480p DVD upscaled to 1080p Blu-ray. it’s not the first time, a commercial upscale darker. Its one way to hide the things that appear from not having enough data in the source used to make the Bl-Ray.
One of NYAA’s better features is multiple releases of the same Anime. Download a single episode of several versions to decide which one that looks best.
