The patches should work on any desktop OS' (Windows, Linux, Mac OSX) but make sure to read the instruction file first (it's inside the patch folder, how\_to\_apply\_this\_patch.txt), especially for XP and Vista users.
It goes without saying that you need the unmodified Ohys-Raws Watamote release.
What these patches do to the videos:
1\. Mux FTW's subtitles (carefully retimed, later version of FTW's OP and ED fabulous karaoke are included in the earlier episodes, the lines are keyframe-snapped if needed, a little bit of improvements here and there but nothing too big).
2\. Attach the required fonts.
3\. Mux carefully timed chapters.
Some Q&As:
Q = Why Ohys-Raws release? It's an 8-bit encode ffs!
A = I was actually going to retime the subs of GS' release for a bit. They did a good job with retiming the subtitle. Just a bit of a polish and include the later version of the OP/ED karaoke to the earlier episodes, poof! Job done! NOT! As I reached episode 3, I saw something that I couldn't unsee. The OP has 2 or 3 corrupt frames! It's between the scene where Kuroki's cuffed hand is reaching out and the scene where her face is in a close up (when the singer sing "kono sekai wa yurusanai - moteta mono wa enryo sei"). Then I did a bit of research and found that GS use MD's video for their release. Now, I don't know whether MD encodes their own releases but I do know that their 720 Watamote release also has a couple of frames corruption in one or two of their videos, though I can't remember which ones. Browsing through MD's releases in nyaa, I got a feeling that they do not encode their own release, a.k.a. pick some available raws, so it must be a raw that was released around the time MD released their Watamote release (2014). So I searched for the latest raw and found Ohys-Raws' Watamote, which was released in 2015. I checked episode 3 OP for corruption and gladly found nothing. I admit the image is a bit blurry compared to GS/MD release, but I'd rather have a little bit of blurry image than the massively glazing green cancer of some frames corruption. This anime need sum luv, man.
tl;dr: Ohys-Raws probably doesn't have frames corruption in their release.
Q = I patched the video but where does the original go?
A = It should be in a folder called "old". It should be created automatically in the same folder as the patch folder when the file is patched successfully. Oh, and you better keep the original, I might commit some changes to the previous episodes.
Q = I love the English dub. What do I do?
A = I guess you gotta mux them yourself.
Q = Where can I get patches for the previous episodes?
A = [HERE](//www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=858113). I've made some changes to the previous episodes. It will be available later when I've completed the series.
As usual, I kindly ask to anyone that still has a copy of Ohys-Raws' release of Watamote to seed their copy. Thank you.
