This is a project of mine that was really an experiment because I don't know a whole lot about re-encoding video. I used Handbrake for this with the Yadif deinterlacer with the NLMeans denoiser. I used the Bob preset in Yadif, which doubled the frame rate to 60fps in an effort to preserve the original frame rate. NLMeans is a wonderful denoiser and is far superior to hqdn3d. I hope you guys enjoy this fresh new batch of GTO. I did not provide screenshots because they don't do the encode justice. If you want to see the quality of the encode, try the first episode here: [\#835187](//www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=835187)
If you have any requests or comments on this encode, don't be hesitant to drop a comment.
Side note: The subtitles are by B-A and their subs only have the lyrics for the first OP due to the fact that their crappy encode had the second OP lyrics baked in to the video. Otherwise, they are pretty good subs for the most part.
Other side note: If you are a madvr user, I strongly advise to use the jinc upscaler with NNEDI3 image doubling; it removes practically all of the artifacts that can be seen during playback.
Another side note: I don't think this encode is the be-all and end-all of encodes for GTO. This might be better any current ones I know of, but someone could surely make a better encode than me. One problem is that my encode isn't very sharp. It is a little bit softer than the source DVD, but that probably is due to the denoiser.
