K-F subs are the best subbers for One Piece but their video quality was ok so I converted their subs into soft subs and used a higher quality DVD rip. I also wanted to edit One Piece to reduce how long it takes to watch it. This edit is not like One Pace where a lot scenes were taken out.
Video:
While I used ChaosBlades's One Piece 1-336 for the East Blue Saga, for this Alabasta Saga I used cloaknsmoke-rips versions as they were higher in quality and has lower file sizes.
Used the original DVD 4:3 version not the Widescreen HD as the widescreen version crops out the top and bottom of the video.
Audio:
Japanese
Subtitles:
K-F Soft subs - Converted all from original K-F video hardsubs.
There are some differences from original: A lot of the special attacks for minor characters had stock font or was not animated so I made unique attacks for everyone.
Some special attacks color has been changed.
K-F subs updated and changed their special attacks font (e.g. Usopp) and their names across the episodes so I made sure to choose one and keep them consistent.
Kept in the special attacks for Crocodile that were made in after effects.
Made more notes to explain certain things but took out others. Changed font of notes.
Edits:
I edited out a lot of the redundancies to make One Piece more smoother to watch including recap of previous episodes, opening and ending songs, and other scenes or parts of scenes that felt too long or not needed.
Editing did not involve re-encoding but remaking, which kept the same high quality.
This seems like a decent idea, but I'm never going to check for one reason:
"and other scenes or parts of scenes that felt too long or not needed."
Without saying WHAT you took out, no one will ever watch it, they'll just get the K-F official releases.
