Evangelion Death and Rebirth is up. This is a movie for big fans and collectors of the series, but completely passable if you just want to watch eva for the first time, skip it and go for EoE (End of Evangelion) after finishing the 26 episodes. You can watch it later if you want. It contains two parts: A 1h:12m summary film called Death, which wasn't even directed by Anno, and the "pre-release" Rebirth, which is the first 20 minutes of Evangelion AIR (First half of EoE) incomplete and unpolished Tough some effects and sound effects are missing and the shadows look crushed, this movies is actually MUCH SHARPER than the End of Evangelion. Many people were mistakenly believing that evangelion "Revival" was a remastered version of end of Evangelion. THIS IS NOT TRUE, as a matter of fact, both the Disc 7 and 8, which are EoE and Revival respectively have THE EXACTLY SAME CRC for the files. Is a blatant copy and paste. There is no hope of a sharper version of EoE, fellows, however, Rebirth IS sharper and you have 20 minutes of footage in extra quality for you to check out. It's called Death True (2). It is a small re-edition of this original Death with literally minimum minor timing modifications on the edition and a cut out 3 minutes scene of the Director's Cut Asuka MIndfuck on episode 22 from the original Death. If you are in doubt of each version you want to watch, I recommend this one because it has that extra scene and most importantly: IS MUCH SHARPER than Death True 2 from revival. This is one of the Reasons why I made Death in a Separated file from rebirth. As a matter of fact, Death True 2 looks so blurry that when I do it, I'll only do it in 720p. It even looks a little bit Degrained, speaking of which grain on this release is all there, intact, no degrain whatsoever. This is also the reason this movie is over 8gbs. Originally I wanted to make it entirely 8gb, but the grain from Death demanded a higher bitrate, so it's a DVD9 + DVD5 edition, this time. I thought about doing a curve correction of the darker areas, but unfortunately, the contrast is inconsistent throughout all the film and it would have to be done manually scene bye scene which is not a viable thing. So no filtering whatsoever. This release also doesn't have any other subtitles for Death besides English, simply because they probably don't exist. For years, the Death and Rebirth movie was very difficult to acquire as no DVD for it have ever been released. Only Death true 2 was released with the Renewal DVD's. ZX made a letteredbox release of it years ago and for most time, before BakaBT adopting it, it had no seeders. I manually copy and pasted the Bloat's subs for EoE and Death true V2 and added extra lines missing, syncing every single frame missing. Since there is no effectively new lines in this release, I don't even bothered translating it to portuguese. Not worth it.
