Normally I don’t upload multiple albums per day, but I was honestly surprised this wasn’t already on here. Or to be more accurate, it was but had no seeds. And in any case I’m not sure what version that was. I’m going to assume everyone knows the 1988 film _Akira._ It’s soundtrack has been released three times that I know of: 1988, 1990, and 2004. I believe there was another remastered release in recent years but I don’t know for sure off the top of my head. Besides audio quality, the primary difference between the versions is that one is the original film soundtrack (i.e. this one), which was re-released later, but in-between came the version _Symphonic Suite Akira LP._ That edition removes most of the vocals, which cuts down some songs like ‘Shohmyoh’ from ten minutes to just over two minutes. To add to the confusion, there is also a ten-track version of _Symphonic Suite Akira_ which matches the track-listing of the 1988 original; the aforementioned LP version only has five tracks (including one which appears on no other version). Finally, the MP3 tags incorrectly have the year 1987 for all of the songs. They should be 1988 or 2004, as that’s the year of the CD from which this is ripped. My apologies for the mistake, which I didn’t notice until the rip was nearly finished. Anyway, sorry about my typical rambling. This is a bizarre soundtrack, but a genuine classic, and probably quite nostalgic for anyone else like me who grew up in the 80’s. As always, enjoy the music everyone!
