Storyline

The story begins in a futuristic domed city called Romdeau, built to protect its citizens after a global ecological disaster thousands of years prior. In this utopia, humans and AutoReivs (androids) coexist peacefully under a total management system. A series of murders committed by robots and AutoReivs infected with the Cogito virus (which causes them to become self-aware) begins to threaten the delicate balance of Romdeau’s social order. Behind the scenes, the government has been conducting secret experiments on a mysterious humanoid life form called a “Proxy.” The Proxy beings (described as God-like and Immortal) are believed to hold the key to the survival of mankind.

L’histoire se déroule dans Romdo, une ville futuriste abritée sous un dôme, construit pour protéger la communauté de survivants d’un virus qui sévit à l’extérieur. Dans cette cité, les humains et les robots (autoreivs) coexistent paisiblement. Mais une série de meurtres provoqués par des robots contaminés par le virus Cogito commence à semer le désordre dans le fragile équilibre qui régit la société. Au sommet de tout cela, le gouvernement conduit des expériences secrètes sur une mystérieuse forme de vie humanoïde baptisée Proxy, qui semble être la clef d’un grand pouvoir. La série débute avec la fuite d’un Proxy des laboratoires gouvernementaux déclenchée par la pulsation de l’éveil.

The small MKV file contains 2 editions:
– All episodes chained but with only a single opening (two actually, because of episode 15) and a single ending, no preview. Good for marathoning.
– All episodes, no cut.
These editions use the separate opening file. Individual episodes (03 and above) contain the opening too, but with a lower video quality.

Le petit fichier MKV contient deux éditions :
– Tous les épisodes enchaînés, avec une seule occurence de chaque générique (deux en fait, à cause de l’épisode 15) et aucune bande-annonce. Idéal pour marathonner la série.
– Tous les épisodes, sans montage.
Ces deux éditions utilisent le fichier de l’OP. Les épisodes individuels sont indépendants, il contiennent aussi le générique d’ouverture (à partir de l’épisode 3), mais codé à une qualité plus médiocre.

Encoding notes:
– Original production resolution was most likely 720p, that’s why I haven’t encoded any 1080p release. I reverted the process using a “debilinear” filter and checked that no detail was killed.
– The original video had a lot of noise (artifical grain), most likely to prevent banding on a 8-bit video format. I slightly removed it, keeping it intact in the most delicate areas (mainly the very dark zones) to avoid losing details.
– Most parts were clean but some contained noticeable colour banding that I had to remove.
– Everything was more or less aliased. Some parts showed gigantic stairsteps. I fixed the most visible defects when I could, leaving intact light aliasing which contributes to the apparent sharpness.
– There were annoying defects like flickering on mouths or eyes, or “grain freeze” (some frames have been duplicated after noise addition to extend the duration of some scenes). I tried to fix the most noticeable ones, when possible.
– Spanish audio tracks don’t contain any previews.
– French audio tracks for episodes 16–19 are much louder than the other episodes. Sorry for that, I couldn’t fix them without reencoding, which I wanted to avoid because of the insanely low bitrate.
