I have to say I don’t like this release, of the first season at least. It’s problematic. When I attempted watching it on my phone, all players (MX Player, mpv, VLC) had the audio and subtitles very out of sync with the video. Only the stock one worked, but it doesn’t support ssa subtitles that I do want to see. On the PC it was better, but still not flawless. In episode 4, all the subtitles looked weird, displaying on the top and having a strange shadow in the middle of the screen. Fortunately there are standard unformatted subs too, but when the translators’ notes came in, it was difficult to figure out what was the note and what an actual sub. The notes weren’t so great either, they disappeared too quickly to read them and didn’t have much useful information. I don’t know if it wouldn’t be better if they were added in a separate txt, like the group that translated the Ansatsu Kyoushitsu manga did with detailed notes on the last page of a chapter. I’m not a fan of the hardcoded karaoke and the additional trinkets on the title card. That kind of defies the whole point of softsubs. I thought it would get more bearable starting from episode 5 on, but it turned out the video and audio quality is worse than the first few episodes. Well, I guess that’s what can be expected from an old fansub. Just wanted to complain a bit, sorry. Regarding the anime: it’s pretty funny so far, though I especially enjoyed the first episodes. I feel like I was just in the right mood for them. My favorite scene has to be the car doing the bike chase in episode 1 :)

@Jendrej WF is actually the best release for School Rumble and as for your subtitle's problems this is mainly due to the fact that you are either using an outdated player or a player that doesn't support graphical interface for subtitles. please use the kawaii codec pack for the MPC-HC player as it comes with MadVR and LAV filters

@nabiru3 "the best release for School Rumble" ... AVI, MKV and MP4 + 2/3 different fansubs all mixed in together doesn't quite convince me of being the best release. So I rather take the Exiled-Destiny release (UTF-8 plaintext subs). Thanks for san gakki tho.

Just found out that KAA has actually done the DVD version of the first series, and it looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G with even less file sizes than the old TV-ripped WF's version, there no active torrent or an xdcc bot for downloading it, if you wish to get it, you can only find it here at ulzo.to

@nabiru3 any idea where episode 14 from KAA can be obtained? The link from their site is ded and don't see it on that site.

@Des-X I've already stated where you can get it from (ulzo.to)... use VPN if the site isn't accessible from within your country, and once you are in just search for (school rumble KAA). Ulzo.to is simple upload/share host server, so you can easily download any file in the website by simply clicking the free download button

notice that their release is a joint release with mokkori (which is a Czech group), but nothing is really different except you that you have a second subtitle track for Czech.

@nabiru3 Strangely enough when I tried searching for it myself I couldn't find it but typing "school rumble KAA" made it the first result xp. Now I have all of the episodes, thanks for the help~

@ToshiY -- it's really just two fansub groups, as KAA used WF scripts for their DVD versions. And it's an "it can't be helped" situation, as WF stopped subbing 2nd Semester when Funimation licensed it in August 2006. (Such "ethical fansubbing" behavior was occasionally a thing back then.) If you value consistent file formats, all-DVD source, etc., sure, go with E-D or one of the other R1 rips. But you'll get more-localized and plainer/no-frills subs, without the level of typesetting, karaoke, TL notes, and other fansub elements that you'll find here.

@nabiru3 The files did exist. I still remember they released season 1 in AVI and season 2 in MP4, but instead I downloaded the one reencoded in RMVB (RMVB was very popular at that time). Anyway I don't have the RMVB files anymore because my external HDD broken. I went through waybackmachine and found out ep 1 & 2 never had solo release from WF, so ep 1 & 2 in this torrent indeed the "original" release from WF. I found it strange they started at ep 3 then later collaborate with other team to do ep 1 & 2. Maybe they did not have the RAW TV capture until the anime got DVD release. They did have solo release for ep 3, ep 3v2 & ep 4, and I'm looking for them to include in my School Rumble collection. I also know they released one of the San Gakki OVAs either ep 25 or ep 26 (not sure which one) but I saw their release, info on anidb backed up my claim. I'm looking for this one too. Hopefully someone have all of these in your collection and can share with me, otherwise they are considered lost media.

Yeah, [just checked](https://anidb.net/episode/25038), they did indeed start releasing their dTV version from ep 3. Sorry though, I can't really help you with them, try checking TokyoInsider, maybe you will see them there !?
