#### **what is this?**
crunchyroll has been trying to make the switch to a new subtitling pipeline that strips away typesetting. this means on-screen text like signs, phone screens, and letters, which used to be styled to blend in better with the actual on-screen text, are now just generic, centered white text that often clutters the screen. the "Unfucked" project is where i merge the English script with typesetting from other language tracks to make it more watchable for English viewers.

In this case the subs suck because I think they come from a 3rd party based on the style names. I've seen this set of style names in CR rips over half a decade ago at least. While when CR tried to make the switch to the shit subs last fall, the style names were all position based like BottomCenter and TopCenter. I haven't come across that kind of subs often this Winter and Spring season, and the times I did there was a v2 with the proper TS'd subs.
Regardless, they never gave an official statement that they won't ditch typesetting for their subs so you should still cancel and unfucking subs is always appreciated.
