A complete Multi Audio release encoded in AV1 and OPUS for optimum size and quality. Files are named to support media servers like Plex using TVDB metadata.

Encoding Details:

We (improperly) rescaled the JPBD via VapourSynth using ArtCNN and encoded with our SWAN system to target a SSIMULACRA2 score of 80.

This project is a production with the goal of the smallest video size with moderate subjective compromises to image quality. This is not the hallmark of AV1, but close enough. This release should only contain changes to the video stream and audio tracks. The subtitle and attachment tracks are usually copied from the noted sources. Timings are not adjusted except in cases of extreme delay as a result of mixing sources. - SavI0r

@Simplistic: Apologies for the mistake in the description. For clarification, the JA audio is 3 channels (2.1) - likely similar to the Girls und Panzer release which contains an LFE channel in addition to the standard stereo channels - and it’s encoded with opusenc to 160kbps. There are also JA commentary audio tracks (stereo 2.0) included and those are encoded with opusenc to 64kbps as they are primarily dialogue. EN audio is only available in stereo (2.0) and it’s encoded with opusenc to 128kbps. The RU audio source is not official and the quality does not match up to the other sources so it’s encoded to our minimum of 96kbps.

Besides the RU audio, we set the parameters for encoding Opus audio roughly based on research from here. For releases unlike this one, we use the default 96kbps for stereo. Due to the nature of the story/content, we intentionally went with the higher 128kbps stereo - which is considered transparent for most people. For the additional LFE channel we bump up the bitrate to 160kbps. For 6 channel (5.1 surround) and 8 channel (7.1 surround) releases we use 256kbps and 320kbps respectively.

We provide the mediainfo for a single file representative of the entire release linked in a header above labeled “Media Info” and it corroborates the information laid out earlier. Additionally, you can check the mediainfo of any file in this release - and many others - from AnimeTosho here.
