![alt text](https://i.ibb.co/SnwBdVx/Team-Mirolo.png) ____ ![alt text](https://i.ibb.co/K6qT3VF/DBKAICC-TEAMMIROLO.jpg) This is our color corrected version of DBZ Kai TFC, which suffers of an unpleasant green tint as we all know. Regarding the process, episodes have been white balanced, midtones have been slightly toned down and hue shifted as far as possible. A dehalo filter have also been applied to reduce white halos around edges. **Disclaimer : This is a general color correction applied to all episodes, not a scene-by-scene correction of each episode. The goal wasn't to achieve perfection, but to make a better DBZ Kai TFC.** | Video source | Resolution | Encoder | CRF | Encoding settings| |---------------------------|------------|---------|-----|-----------------------------------------------| | Funimation US Blu-ray | 1080p | x264 | 13 | [Mediainfo](https://pastebin.com/raw/2APkVtzb)| | Audio source | Language | Encoder | Bitrate | |---------------------------|----------|-------------|---------------| | Funimation US Blu-ray | Japanese | Apple AAC | CVBR 160 kb/s | | Subtitles source | Language | Format| |---------------------------|----------|-------------|---------------| | Funimation US Blu-ray | English| PGS | ### [Comparison screenshots](https://slow.pics/c/16lb4EyX) Thanks to Krycek7o2 for providing the blu-ray remuxes

I appreciate it, but no English audio? Daaaaaang
Looks great though wish there were some bonus audio tracks with the Z or Kai-Yamamoto score (if possible) 'cause the OST of Kai TFC was something that always felt out of place. I'll wait for the Castillan Spanish dub and see if they make something similar. Thanks.
it's crazy how hard-baked the radioactive green is(toei green lady was clearly trying to make it unsalvageable). very impressive work tho. ![](https://i.slow.pics/OsZraHz9.jpg)

@ethan2awesome : The thing is that hues and whites are inconsistent across scenes, so if you want to get rid of it completely and achieve a near-perfect result, you'd have to work scene by scene for the whole show
Any chance for fixing the japanese version as well instead of the international release?

Team-Mirolo (uploader)

User
@Metaridley : Maybe
also any plans for 16:9 and 4:3 kai 2009 versions?

Team-Mirolo (uploader)

User
I mean, Kai part 1 doesn't need any specific treatment so not really
is this a beta release for a potential future 2.0 release? thanks for the work, mirolo.

Team-Mirolo (uploader)

User
@Otaskai : We'll probably release a 2.0 release based on the Japanese version, with episode-by-episode CC (so more accurate)
Thank you very much for your amazing work Mirolo!! In case you do a hypothetical v2 using the JP BDs, will you be CCing scene-by-scene and will you be using SoM's subtitles?

User
@Yusei573 As I said, it will be CC episode by episode to increase color accuracy (this current release has a general filter applied to the whole show, so it's inevitably uneven between episodes). Scene-by-scene would be way too long to achieve, i'm talking months, and tbh Kai doesn't deserve it. Regarding using SoM subtitles, I don't know we may talk with them before release to try making something that'll satisfy the largest amount of people.
@Team-Mirolo While you are true, Kai doesn't deserve it, since you want to make a good quality release of Kai, I would suggest taking a different approach. You could use SoM's upcoming CC of Z and simply use that footage to match Kai's (either TFC or Kai 2.0) video. Maybe add an English dub while you're at it. In this case you dont need to CC yourselves and use 4:3 video which is what most people want. Heck, you could do a Kai 1.0 project and have a completed Kai release using CC Z footage and please everyone. Though I would keep the JP OPs and EDs cause they are superior to the International ones in my opinion.

User
@Yusei573 : I think you don't really realize the amount of work it'd be, far worse than CCing scene by scene. Plus it would be useless because BGMs will be cut abruptly or should be extended to match DBZ scenes That's not something we'll do
Yeah, BGMs and scores would be a pain indeed. Hadn't thought of that. Though CC scene by scene would be a pain also. So I get why you would go for an episodic CC instead. Makes sense.

Team-Mirolo (uploader)

User
@Yusei573 Yeah that's the best compromise we can do.
@Team-Mirolo Why release the potential 2.0 episode by episode CC with the Japanese version instead of the international version? I was always under the impression that the Japanese version was a re-edit of the international version that was slapped together with a few awkward cuts somewhat last minute to fill a time slot. The international version was the only version originally intended for release.

User
@mattsterZ : I see it the other way around. Japanese version have : - Better opening (music-wise and also some frames of animations that are better drawn than TFC) - Multiple endings - Original Japanese title screens - More musics since they used Battle of Gods tracks for episodes 99-106 that are not in the international version - Less fillers episodes, shorter version, more straight to the point - Correction of Super Buu's eyes As for the cuts at episodes end, it pretty much respects manga chapters, not really an issue. Also keep in mind that only episodes 099-106 (099-113 TFC equivalent) have a different editing, after that, episodes are the same as international version.
@Yusei573 We will collaborate with Mirolo if they want to for any v2, although I can tell you any cc choices are theirs to make and we have no interest in recutting DBOX footage to align with Kai, several people within our group have attempted it and it's just too ridiculously time consuming since basically every shot would need to be recut.
@Team Mirolo: I'm sure V2 will be fantastic. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks in advance!
So basically it's this or a version 2 that's different. No chance of a dual audio since the releases had different episodes and audio.
Anyone have a source for the Japanese release with subtitles? Or at the very least, the differences mentioned? Like the shorter episodes and episodes with different bavkground music?

Team-Mirolo (uploader)

User
@DisplayNamee : We will eventually use the same edition for V2 (The Final Chapters) with dual audio. While japanese version has it's advantages, episodes 099-106 being different (which answer your second comment btw), it's impossible to sync dub for them which complicate things. Maybe one day we'll make a color enhanced version for japanese version.
Yeah, I get that. For the second part I was really asking if there is an upload here of the Japanese version. I'm only seeing USBDs or I'm blind. Also, you did a good job. I hope you didn't think I was being critical.
@Team-Mirolo what i meant with Kai Part 1 in 4:3 and 16:9 is more like a complete batch of all the episodes in both variants with the multiple audio and sub options like SoM releases. Also Kai 2014 japanese cut would be neat as well
@Team-Mirolo: And maybe there is a chance for an International version with Japanese opening & endings?

Team-Mirolo (uploader)

User
@wampa1 : That'd complicate things. Foreign audio tracks would need to be reworked to match, Fight it out will still play in previews, subtitles would also need to be redone... It'd be too much custom, not worth it.
