パーマン (1967年) Perman (1967) =============== What is this? ------------- The manga Perman by Fujiko F. Fujio was first adapted into animation in 1967. This series consists of 54 episodes, with each episode divided into two parts (A and B). It aired from April 2, 1967, to April 14, 1968, on Japanese channel TBS, broadcasting from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The show was produced in black and white. This torrent contains all surviving episodes in 1080p, though the quality varies. The content is sourced from the Blu-ray set released in 2024, titled "Perman 1967-nenban Blu-ray" (release date: 28/06/2024, code: BFTD-0490). What does it contain? --------------------- You'll find episodes 1 to 54, with some exceptions and variations: Episodes 16A and 47A are not included in the BD-set. However, you can find YouTube rips of these episodes in the `bonus` folder. 16A is available in Spanish dub, while 47A is in Portuguese. Episodes 04A, 17A, and 39A are in HD but lack sound. Portuguese from Brazil dubs for 04A and 17A are provided in the `bonus` folder. Unfortunately, dubs in other languages or any version of episode 39A are currently unavailable. If you have access to these in different dubs, please let me know. The masters for episodes 27B, 30B, and 48B have gone missing since the DVD edition. As a result, these episodes were upscaled from SD sources instead of being scanned in HD. Episode 51B is available in HD with sound, but the video quality is very low. The film is badly damaged, especially at the beginning. Regarding openings and endings, the BD set contains: - OP A and B, both with song lyrics - Rerun OP (similar to OP A, but without the last part featuring Peko-chan) - ED A and B, both available with and without credits On the BD set, each half-episode starts with the OP. There is no ED. OP A is used from episode 1 to 13 and 27 to 54, while OP B (which introduces Per-ko and Per-yan) is used from episode 14 to 26. The breakdown of OP and ED usage is as follows: - First run: OP includes only lyrics, ED contains staff and cast credits. The OP animation changes at some point. - Rerun: OP does not include lyrics but contains credits. There is no ED. The OP animation remains consistent. The last episode features different ED animation and credits. Additionally, there are two TV commercials for magazines where the Perman manga was published. Anything else worth mentioning? ------------------------------- The video was encoded using ffmpeg. You can find the bash script used in the `script` folder. Constructive criticism of the parameters used is welcome. The audio has been converted to mono. If you want to run the scripts yourself using a local rip of the discs, you need to set the variables `input_dir` and `output_dir` to point to the source folder (the `STREAM` directory in the `BDMV` package) and where you want the videos to be encoded, respectively. This needs to be done in all three script files. The episodes have metadata set for the title and airing date. This ensures a great playback experience with VLC and Plex (in both matched and unmatched mode).
