Description: A fan-edit of One Piece’s 14th movie “Film Red” that replaces the Japanese vocals of Ado with the English vocals of AmaLee in the English audio track. This is NOT simply AmaLee’s covers overlayed on the scenes they’re used in. AmaLee’s covers have different instrumentals and in some cases timing. Her vocals have been pulled so they can be matched with the correct instrumentals, and SFX and dialogue have been preserved to the best of my ability. An unedited Japanese Audio track as well as full English subtitles are included to make the project file more complete. The first edit I released, known as v1, was an imperfect proof of concept. This release is v2 and is considered the definitive version. I'd even go so far as to say the editing quality is professional enough that you can use this version to watch Film Red for the first time. The improvements and changes in this version will be described below. Video: 2160p, HDR, HEVC My v1 edit had 1080p video based on a JP-BD rip rip by Almighty. This encode had 10-bit color improvements among other small tweaks. It was the best video source at the time. This time, v2 uses a 4K UHD Blu-Ray rip from Aergia. It was the only rip I could find that successfully preserved the Dolby Vision layer. This video quality goes above and beyond, and is most of the reason why this file size is so huge. Audio: (English) 5.1 Edited Audio (AC3), (Japanese) 7.1 Unedited Audio (THD) The dub audio for v1 used the stereo track from an amazon prime rip. It was the earliest available source, but the low quality is what resulted in many of v1's flaws. For v2, I personally ripped the 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound audio from the official English Blu-Rays, giving me the best material to work with for this edit. The Japanese Audio has no editing and is simply here to make the package more complete. Like the video source, this Japanese audio comes from a 4K UHD Blu-Ray rip from Aergia, meaning it's based on the Dolby Atmos track. Subtitles: Songs & Signs (SRT), Songs & Signs Substation Alpha (ASS), English Subtitle (SRT), English Subtitle Substation Alpha (ASS) The subtitles are based on the official english subtitles, with fonts and timing from Almighty's torrent. v1 only had the Substation Alpha subtitle format, as it worked very well for fonts and positioning of subtitles. However, there is a known bug in VLC when playing HDR video that makes all the subtitles black. For this reason, I converted the subtitles to SubRip format and made them the default. The .ass files are still included for anyone who A) does not experience this bug, or B) uses a different media player like mpv. Sources: To summarize, this project uses the 4K UHD Blu-Ray of Film Red from Japan, the official English Blu-Ray of Film Red from the United States, AmaLee's song covers on Spotify, music instrumentals uploaded by Ado, and the help of multiple users' pre-existing torrents. Tools Used: Ultimate Vocal Remover, Audacity, MKVToolnix and DaVinci Resolve were all used again. I also needed DVDFab and MakeMKV to help rip the English Blu-Ray myself. Now, I will go song-by-song and describe how the editing has been improved from v1. NEW GENESIS — The edit in v1 was very well done already and had little to be improved. But being in Surround Sound improves much of the audio quality, and SFX and dialogue are better preserved. The second time Uta briefly sings this song has also been greatly improved, as character's dialogue can now be heard without Ado's singing muffled in. I'M INVINCIBLE — This song is vastly improved, as many of the characters' grunts and screams that were muted in v1 have been preserved. WHERE THE WIND BLOWS (child) — Even this song, which you'd expect to sound mostly the same, has slightly better preserved SFX, such as the footsteps. BACKLIGHT — This song has many of the Surround Sound and SFX improvements I mentioned with New Genesis. It was an already good edit made even better. THE WORLD'S CONTINUATION (teenager) — Thanks to the Surround Sound, AmaLee doesn't switch to Ado's voice when Gordon starts talking anymore. The paulstretching effects have also been improved to sound more natural. FLEETING LULLABY — This song has great improvements with most of the SFX and voices being preserved. TOT MUSICA — This song has the most improvements between v1 and v2. Originally, I could not seperate audio when one person is talking while Ado is singing. But thanks to the 6 audio channels in Dolby Surround Sound, I was able to seperate them perfectly. You can hear the character's clearly as AmaLee sings, with Ado's voice taken out almost completely. THE WORLD'S CONTINUATION — Much to my surprise, this iteration of the song did not have all the syncing issues I assumed it to have in v1, and paulstretching was not required at all. In short, the syncing sounds far more natural this time around, and SFX and people's noises are better preserved. WHERE THE WIND BLOWS (ending) — I was hoping I could find some magical solution to this song. The editing in v1 was laughable, and completely ruined what would otherwise be a well-rounded project. The problem is that AmaLee has sang Where the Wind Blows, but never slowly in a weakly voice. Every solution to this problem I could think of was ridiculous and/or would still sound jarring to some extent. Ultimately, I decided to leave this song unedited. It would be less jarring to hear Uta sing in Japanese only once than to hear AmaLee edited strangely. It is disappointing that I could not fix this song and make v2 "perfect", but I hope the compromise I've chosen is acceptable. WHERE THE WIND BLOWS (credits) — This edit was already perfect, and not much sounds different at all, aside from the Surround Sound of course. Final Notes: I am so very happy to complete this project of mine, and I hope you all enjoy it. It's been over a year since I released v1, and I'm sure you're all wondering what the delay was. There are multiple reasons, but the important one is that I'm a perfectionist, and the Surround Sound English audio the Blu-Rays provided didn't make things as easier as I originally assumed they would.

impressive work. now we need a resonably sized version
Big W. The size is fine. Space is so cheap.
