Summary from MAL: "For as long as she could read, Elianna Bernstein—more commonly known as the “Bibliophile Princess”—has preferred the company of books to that of people. However, as a noble, it is her duty to find a suitor. Fortunately for her, Crown Prince Christopher Selkirk Asherald proposes a deal: He will protect her free time, and, in exchange, Elianna will be his fiancée in name only.
“The years they spend together are bliss, as Elianna learns to open herself to others. But all good things must come to an end. For Elianna, who loves books more than people, ending their fake relationship should be no big deal. But as Christopher grows close with another girl, Elianna begins to realize that she is not as indifferent to him as she once thought.”
Mushikaburi-hime, or Bibliophile Princess, is definitely a personal favorite of some of the staff members, and Madhouse delivered with the adaptation. When it aired on web/tv many of the video sources were pretty poor quality wise, and we were only able to choose the least bad (as recommended by a few encoders).
When the US BDs came out it was discovered that they were lowpassed, making them an un-ideal option, but the JP BD’s looked pretty good on the whole, so we used them. Even with that there was still a lot of halo’ing and patchy grain (among other things). Here is a sample of comparison from the encodes for ep 01: https://slow.pics/c/AI5rUXBx.
We were also able to complete a batch qc pass, and streamline a few things, and are very happy to offer this BD batch of the series to you all. ^^

Thanks.
Is it too much to ask for the lossless audios?
Kamiyan93
What for?

Thank you!

Not too much to ask, but we won’t be doing a release with it.
The encoder chose this audio codex, and as far as I am concerned they put in all the work on that front, and I respect their decision.
If you don’t like it just throw something together yourself. :)

@Cait-Sidhe
I’m unable to access the source - I’dn’t know it.
Thanks insofar.
Aryma
can feel the difference between OPUS and FLAC?
thanks Cait-Sidhe again for your work
do you have any plans to work in any movie ?
Cait-Sidhe (uploader)
Maybe … we are def trying to catch up on our backlog. >.<
Again, though - no promises.

Thanks a lot!

It’s called opiss audio for a reason you know…!
MarioLuigi0404
Nobody calls it that but you, zrdb
Unless you can consistently tell in an ABX test, which is unlikely if its encoded properly, Opus is perfectly serviceable.
Sesshoumaru
If we talk about a HQ score and a very delicate score of cause Opus sucks and Flac wins with flying colors. Opus is meant for low bitrate realtime transmission.
However, we are talking here about a soundtrack mostly with speech and light background music. It should perform reasonable well … even if I personally prefer lossless in every case humanly possible.
zrdb
Don’t know about you but I can hear a difference between lossy and lossless audio. When I upload something I always use lossless audio if it’s available for whatever I’m working with at the time,
Simplistic
We’ll be waiting for your ABX results
zrdb
I don’t give a flying fuck about your abx-in the real world what counts is how you perceive sounds.
Animorphs
Yeah guys, zrdb can clearly hear the difference, he just can’t actually prove it because an ABX obviously isn’t the real world because… uh… it’s different audio to the anime? No, that’s not right since you use the audio tracks from the anime itself… hmmm. It’s just different, okay guys!!!

Thanks for doing this!
Just a couple of minor issues :
