This is an English subtitled release of episodes 13-27 of the 1998 Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, also known as “Season Zero” or the Toei anime. As well, this includes the associated theatrical movie. We apologize for the quality of the video of episodes 24-27 and the movie in advance; we had issues with the condition of our tapes for those. As a result, the movie is sourced from a bootleg DVD of the laserdisc release. The subtitles are based on the GX_st release for the first ten episodes and the TV-Nihon translation for episodes 11-27 and the movie, with the translation then checked and retranslated in places by ERankedLuck, and edited for spelling, grammar, and bringing in line with the official manga translation. A few onscreen card texts were taken from Yugipedia. The video is sourced from the only release on VHS, albeit with issues due to the age and wear condition of the tapes we used and other ripping problems we apologize for in advance. To patch over issues of places where the tapes dropped out completely, we used footage from the GX_st fansubs and the ImpatientRaws releases of the series. The videos are encoded in 480p H.264 with AAC audio with hardsubs. A second release is available with hardsubs.
