The translation is very loose and rough indeed, straight-up trash even, but I don’t care enough for the interviews (and let’s be honest, neither do you) to bear the full brunt of it myself (besides, I couldn’t finish it by Christmas if I was to fully translate the interview myself), especially since they’re talking so quietly there. So, subs for the interview part from question 3-on (where he starts talking about the Meiji era) are by someone named Bragon.

Note: in the beginning, where the sign says July 3rd 1873, I should have probably left that untranslated as “8th year of Keio era” because well, the year here kinda has nothing to do with what’s going on, but at least it’d be easier to understand what the fuck is keio in the title this way.
