Gekiga Hour Golgo 13 Series OP&ED (1971) 劇画アワー ゴルゴ13シリーズ OP・ED ======================================== What is this? ------------- Don't get too excited by the title. I wanted to upload to my Youtube Music account the OP and ED songs of the, previously thought as lost media, first TV series of Golgo 13 (1971). I extracted them using the best source available (AAC, 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 192 kb/s) and converted them to FLAC. I'm really into these 2 songs, they sound very much like Lupin III (same composer), very jazzy and 70's-like, so I thought others may want to listen to them too. What is this show about? ------------------------ This is the very first TV "anime" of Golgo 13 aired in 1971. For a long time, this show was thought to have completely disappeared and very little information was available. But the original films were recently discovered at Togen warehouse and a selection of episodes was aired on TBS. I use quotes around the word anime because this show does not have proper animation. Instead, it uses drawing and clever camera movements, BGMs, sound effects and voice-over to convey an atmosphere. The story follows Golgo 13, a charismatic professional assassin. What is missing? ---------------- Pretty much everything! Apart from the selection of episodes aired on TBS (22 out of 130 in total), nothing else from this show is available. It does not currently have a home media release. Likewise, the BGMs are not available anywhere.
