We actually got the group name from our Genshiken-like college komiks-making group [Skewed Studios Indie Komiks](http://komiks.skewedstudios.com) (which finally, I can put something on it XD /me blames recent Komikon). Wow, it's really been 4 years, huh? As we really don't remember the exact date when me and magicalcrap-sama formed SkewedS Subs-Scans, we celebrate our anniversary about the time we made our first release - which is today, November 17. So anyway, here's our special rare movie fansub release - it's the 1991 **Video Girl Ai Live Action movie**! [](http://i50.tinypic.com/9i74ee.jpg) If you remember in our last year's anniversary, I mentioned that there is a release we were planning on that day that didn't pushed through because of our bad raw source - well, actually it is this movie :P MachineMinder-dono in YouTube.com first provided us with the raws he found circling in the internet - but when it was already in the QC team, it was called off because of the bad quality of the raws (320x240 MPEG1? :P). takenoko-sama pointed out at Yahoo Auctions that there are VHS copies available there so I contacted Neesan (who is a SkewedS Komiks colleague) who now resides in Japan to ask for help in purchasing. Funny thing is, we won the auction for a 100 yen, but the delivery charge to his place in Tokyo costs around 12 times as much as the item XD And sadly, there never was a DVD release of this rare movie. Actually, it's one of the manga series from Katsura Masakazu whose mangas were one of the first scanlations that was available during the very early age of scanlations (back in dial up and you probably can read more about scanlation history [here at InsideScanlation](http://insidescanlation.com/history/)). I also remembered renting the OAV series in a local anime VHS rental shop (Mang Eugene's) back in high school. Heck, I remember finishing the rest of the OAV series, when a friend ordered from Viz video the whole set. It's about Moteuchi Youta, who most of the time mistaken to be called Motenai/Unpopular/Dateless because of the kanji in his surname. He just recently became very sad after he found out the girl he likes is in love with his best friend. Going home broken hearted, he suddenly noticed a new video rental store named Gokuraku (Paradise in English). It is said that only people with pure heart can see that video rental store. In there he rented a VHS idol video of Amano Ai. As he went home and watched the VHS he rented, to his surprise, the girl in the video came to life - but because his VHS player just recently got mental, there are some things that he didn't expected with the personality of Ai :P Anyway, have fun with this rare classic specially dedicated to Video Girl Ai fans.
