The Navy day, mentioned in the episode 2 preface, was celebrated in Japan on May 27th, in commemoration of the Battle of Tsushima. Among the reasons why the Battle of Midway was so ill-prepared and hastily scrambled together, was the High Command drive to set sail on the Navy Day.

From this torrent on, TL notes are stored in a separate file, although it’s nothing spectacular this time.
