Hi there, can I ask why you use EXCITE! Subs rather than IzuSubs?

after years of waiting, finally i can put geats as bdrip in my hard drive.

@faizkari Because most sub groups turn their noses up at the notion of things being called by their real names. If you prefer Izu's style like I do, you can very easily retime their subs yourself to the new raws, or edit another group's subs. Doesn't take too long. @abu_sayyaf74 Blu-Ray rips have been up on Nyaa for months, and it is trivially easy to get the existing subs to work with them.

How come you couldn't include IzuSubs in as a second track or even the ones from GenmCorp, though stopped at ep 22, but it was the only sub group that had kept the Jyamato name in keeping in the 'y' given in show showed 'Jymar area' name; It would of help that way so some people could save there hard drives if one video had multiple subs instead of wanting to save all of them given the file sizes comparison.

Ok couple of things: -If you don't like how we do stuff that's fine, you're entitled to your preference. But keep it to yourself. -As has been pointed out, mkv tools are free to download. You can use them to extract video/audio/subs/fonts whatever from whatever mkv to whichever mkv. So you now have all the tools needed to add or remove any sub tracks you want from our files. You don't have to keep entire duplicate video/audio files just to have more than one sub option (other than groups that burn in their subs but hell we couldn't pull those and put them in ours either) -Subtitle file editors are also free to download. Push comes to shove, .ass files are just plain text, you could edit them in notepad/texteditor/notepad++ etc. tl;dr: if you don't like how we did it, keep it to yourself and make your own

While we're here: if we applied subs as-is (or just with minor timing tweaks), we would probably include more than one track. However when we do scrubs, we almost always are making our own changes to them, fixing typos, rewording sentences, making consistency changes to prior subs of other shows, formatting signs/fonts, etc etc. So what comes out is an edited track, not the same thing as the original source we used (sometimes it greatly differs, sometimes we barely change stuff). That ends up being our "recommended" track so a) we don't really see the point in putting the source tracks on here when they're freely available from those groups and b) retiming those scripts to our encodes multiplies the amount of work hugely. So see above re: including other subs on your own And finally, one of those changes we made was to use "Jyamato" and variations thereof with the Y. Is it because we think it's "right"? No, it's just because that's how GenmCorp was doing it when we were following their subs. YMMV. So it's Excite as a base and that's one of the changes we made throughout. We will not be taking questions on the what and why we did with the rest, go look yourself or diff the script files if you really want to.

@kaiserstar I wanna say GenmCorp were one of the ones that really localized things for no reason. I don't remember if Excite did too but if they spelled Jyamato wrong then that's a big deal but OP is saying they fixed that at least. I'd be more worried about the full series file size. Gonna need to bump it down to 720p for most people who don't have massive drives to store these batches.

well, could someone provide a link for the scripts from IzuSubs given they don't have MEGA anymore? Also, sorry about the comment early, the first couple of episodes showed Jyamato names, but the title you had on file for episode 11 over here had 'Jamatos.Labyrinth' so it confused me a bit. Though I did wish you kept in the 'Deza Shin' name but had a sign that translate it to Desire Deity/God for the first ep.

@HowlingSnail: It might be I just used to watch Geats via IzuSubs weekly and I only just wanted to know if why EXCITE! subs is being use for this release. But still, I don't mind if there's any inconsistency with any fansub groups, as long as I can understand shit, I'll be glad. Furthermore resync and editing subs is beyond my expertise. @CeraKesh: Thanks for the explanation, and thanks as always for your effort. Totally glad that someone could resync the subs with the Blu-ray rip, just got my new HDD and Geats is so worth it to rewatch in Blu-ray quality.
