Fate/stay night Heaven's Feel, movies [I](https://myanimelist.net/anime/25537/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_I_Presage_Flower), [II](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33049/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_II_Lost_Butterfly), and [III](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33050/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_III_Spring_Song) In the Italian Blu-Rays for these movies, some scenes look [a lot better](https://slow.pics/c/2GDQ1TCb) than in the Japanese Blu-Rays. These are encodes that take advantage of that. The subtitles are by [Kaleido-SCY](https://nyaa.si/view/1391529), more or less unmodified. I was politely advised not to edit them too much. You probably shouldn't watch these movies until you've watched both Fate/zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. Is it worth it to watch 4 cours of anime just so you can watch three movies at the end of it? Yes, I would say so. I am planning to encode Fate/zero next. It would make a lot of sense to encode UBW as well, since those encodes are more or less the same as these were, but I'll put it off as long as possible because I think there is a chance someone else will do it in my stead. Contains 2.0 and 5.1 audio. Video quality comparisons: [movie 1](https://slow.pics/c/iwMq1g2c) (this encode is marked as "MTBB"), [movie 2](https://slow.pics/c/d4oeO8Ep). Again, the main difference between my encodes and the ones that have come before is the high-motion, high-saturation action scenes that got nuked in the JPBD. But Heaven's Feel has a lot of those.

Thank you very much! Have you considered doing the two Fate/Grand Order Camelot movies? As far as I'm aware there aren't any acceptable releases of them, despite the second movie supposedly being pretty well animated.
Thanks, never got around to watching these. Any chance for mediainfo, maybe?

> Have you considered doing the two Fate/Grand Order Camelot movies? I don't know anything about FGO, sorry.
Release reminder that Sakura is a whore and should be disregarded at all times.
tfw they didn't adapt mind of steel
[ Bring Illya back ] [ Bring Illya back ] [ Bring Illya back ]
those comparisons are actually nuts
Didn't look at all of them, but Seicher is far ahead on comparison #19. More detail and mostly successful anti-aliasing.
he knows dude. his goal isn't to make the best encode it's the make a high quality one at a filesize he considers reasonable real encodes of this will probably be out within a year id say
re: F/Z and UBW F/Z has chroma lowpass that should be fixable with UK/AU BD, but GER BD is probably better. I only checked the JP against UK/AU in first 2 eps of season 2 and I remember the lowpass being there in the scenes with the Berserker+fighter jet fusion and other action scenes. UBW ITA BD 17, 18, 25 and OVA are remuxed from JP BD. It's been 2 years since I checked, but iirc: Ep 17: chroma lowpass in Gae Bolg vs Rho Aias scene Ep 18: chroma lowpass in reality marble scene, chroma/luma lowpass in grainy scenes (UK/AU and GER struggle with grainy scenes, so JP is still better for those probably) Ep 25: chroma lowpass when Shirou creates weapon and when Luvia and Rin fight. OVA: iirc one cut with chroma lowpass
@ap1234 Aliasing isn't a filesize constrain, it's a filter chain issue. At 11 GB there's no room to claim the aliasing is there because you've suddenly run out of bits. Arguably, the level of detail in that frame from Seicher's encode could be preserved at that bitrate as well with different filter settings. I don't think this is useless feedback in any case.

> Didn’t look at all of them, but Seicher is far ahead on comparison #19. More detail and mostly successful anti-aliasing. I agree that it looks better. The AA is impressive. When I saw that frame, I wondered if it was scenefiltered. The extra detail is due to me not rescaling that scene but using full-res AA instead. I don't rescale scenes that have on-screen overlays like this one does. So it's a special case just for this scene (and any other scene with an on-screen overlay). In general, Seicher is such a good encoder that I can't hope to beat his encodes until normal circumstances. But he did not encode movies 2 and 3 (and never will), and he did not use the ITABD.

I only checked the JP against UK/AU in first 2 eps of season 2 and I remember the lowpass being there in the scenes with the Berserker+fighter jet fusion and other action scenes. There are two JPBDs, can you comment on whether they both have lowpass for cour 2? I was not able to find any lowpassed scenes in the old JPBDs in the first two episodes of cour 1. I don't think the GERBD is on U2.
@motbob I see, thanks for the explanation. Good luck on FZ and UBW.
>There are two JPBDs, can you comment on whether they both have lowpass for cour 2? I was not able to find any lowpassed scenes in the old JPBDs in the first two episodes of cour 1. The first episode of cour 2 has identical AVC streams on the 2012 and 2017 releases. It's probably safe to assume that this is also the case with the rest of cour 2. However, cour 1 2017 BD has new encode with lowpassed scenes. I didn't spot lowpassed scenes in the first 2 episodes of cour 1 old BD either.

Tested the last episode of the cour, and it seems your assumption was correct.
>But Seicher did not encode movies 2 and 3 (and never will), and he did not use the ITABD. too busy encoding monster
i will see what i can do abt ger bd btw
Fate/Zero spoils HF though

There's a whole host of emotional moments in HF that make zero sense if you haven't watched F/Z. I really do not think the third movie is interesting at all if you have not watched F/Z first.
sounds like it's a poor adaptation of the source material then, which was written long before fate/zero existed
You should be reading the VN instead tbqh smh smh my head
> sounds like it’s a poor adaptation of the source material then, which was written long before fate/zero existed I don't think different =/= poor. ufotable didn't and will never do an anime adaptation of the Fate route (I guess unless someone gives them a few more tax havens to care), so UBW and Heaven's Feel already are made with the assumption that you are either familiar enough with the Fate route + Fate/Zero or don't care. Whether that's good or bad is up to you, but it's a way of adapting within the limits instead of doing a straight adaptation.
@motbob had to spend most of my bonus points for it, but i got the ger bds; you can vote on my offer on u2: https://u2.dmhy.org/offers.php?id=52956&off_details=1
@LightArrowsEXE yes, the only way
As usual, I have no idea what people are even talking about...I always wonder how people manage to see these quality differences...I'm sitting here switching between images, and I am absolutely unable to see any difference what so ever...And I have perfect vision, so it's not that. Either my brain is just unable to notice them, even when I try, or maybe it's a monitor thing, I dunno...it's always been like this...
Screen quality influences a lot, that's for sure. Also, you sorta need to have your eye trained to notice this kind of stuff. It's not something anyone can pick up.
If anything it's probably a good thing if you don't see anything :)
Fantastic work! Now I'm just left wondering how the hell you caught on to the difference between JPBD and ITABD (⊙_◎)?
