Here is kamisama hajimemashita entirely reencoded in AV1 so that it takes less place (7.5G to 2.5G) for no quality difference
also the audio has been reencoded to opus 128kbps for smaller files while having high quality
and the video was encoded using lavish aom-av1 using preset 2 at crf 30

/!\this release will get a redo with a proper source and other languages
libaom-av1, did you re-encoded it using ffmpeg?
How does your command-line looked-like? something like this?: `ffmpeg -i ${input} -c:v libaom-av1 -preset 2 -crf 30 ${input}[AV1].mkv`
I tried AV1 encoding, but it always use CPU and is slow as hell...
libaom preset 2 : bitrate= 28.3kbits/s speed=0.0459x
libaom preset 5 : bitrate= 28.3kbits/s speed=0.0543x
libsvtav1 preset 5 : bitrate= 11.2kbits/s speed=0.541x
libsvtav1 preset 6 : bitrate= 8.8kbits/s speed=0.924x
Thanks @NekoTrix, indeed, libsvtav1 is a better choice for me by far!
would still love to pass it on my GPU instead of CPU, but according to nvidia's GPU support matrix, my old card does not support AV1 encoding u_u (AV1 encoding support only starts from RTX40xx)
i use a gui that use both ffmpeg and av1an
av1an allows multithreading of the encoding
GPU encoding does not give the same quality, i own an rx 7900 xtx and i still encode with my cpu because it s not made for that purpose
here i want high quality for little size no matter how long it takes
with my ryzen 7900x with preset 2 i got 9fps on this anime which is pretty fast
some people that encode in av1 take two days for one episode.
