His audio had [gaps in various places](https://i.imgur.com/RVB1iL4.jpeg) that caused sync issues, the most noticeable one is somewhere around 50% of the movie (I guess it's because of layer break).
Audio were fixed using DVD R2J as a guide and to patch up the gaps/fix stereo image in one scene. Just FYI: even tho R2J have same mixes as LD (5.1 and 2.0), they are different in terms of dynamic range (check comparison: https://imgur.com/a/wjdbXtZ) . Also, codec compression is less harsh on LD.
Opening logo sound was replaced to Madhouse one (stereo and mono mixes have it downmixed from 5.1)
Some sound effects and hard effects are placed differently throughout the mixes and that's how it's indented to be.
**Why include new 5.1 mix?**
Because at the time it was made (for first BD edition), something went wrong and in couple of places it's got out of sync. All of the Blu-ray edition carry those issues since then. I fixed it using DVD 5.1 mix as a guide track.
Audio synced to 2013 UK BD picture. 2.0 mix encoded as LtRt that plays properly on surround system. All tracks encoded using reference DTS encoder and it's authoring-ready (it have priming, learn here if you gonna use it out of professional authoring software: https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/QuickTime/QTFF/QTFFAppenG/QTFFAppenG.html)
Enjoy.
You mentioned in [TheNightSkies]'s torrent that there's nothing wrong with these, but it seems like they slightly go out of sync towards the end?
It's most noticeable at 1:17:19, where the cicadas start way after the scene transition. Was it like that on the DVD as well, or was that an oversight while editing the audio?
