Hello folks. We're back again with another release. We're finally rolling along on Peter Pan. Episodes 1-10 as per usual. Edit: It appears I goofed when muxing the files. A few episodes have extra tracks in them. It's just redundant copies of the Japanese sub. And episode 8 I included 9s audio by mistake. Since the intended track are there I'm leaving this up, but will fix for the final batch Encoding: As far as encoding goes I'd say this is more difficult than Princess Sara, but a lot easier than Pollyanna. You have the normal Nippon Animation foolery; Checkering , Rainbowing, and just being funky. Once again they can't make up there mind on how to format the DVDs though. 1-5 were CFR 30 480I, 6+ are VFR 480i. Why? Good question. Still don't know. When encoding 6+ Darkonius and I realized it would be best to just encode back to VFR moving forward. Pollyanna was a special case in that it was both VFR and Progressive with frameblending. It was not fun however I did it, so I made it CFR. With Perter Pan I don't have those issues, so i left it VFR. I used my normal Degrain-deniose combo to combat the Checkering. Toon and Santiag to spiff up the lines a bit. SSIQ for rainbowing. The Rainbowing is really bad in places, but turning it up enough to fix it warped other shit, so I just hit the worst of it. This release Is also the first where I learned how to scene filter. That was an experience in learning, but now that I know how to do it it's kinda nice having it as an option. I needed it for two reasons. One is Tinker Bell, something about her makes my Stab filter go nuts. So i needed a filter chain for that. Then the amount to filtering i needed to make the OP look good destroyed the rest of the episode, so i filtered that separate. Over all it's great...... only got 3 filter chains..... *Cries* We also managed to get our hands on the old C1 subs. That made the project 100% easier. A thank you to Collectr for those. Thus this release contains two English sub tracks: The default track is the DarkWispers track, which is a fully retimed and edited version of C1's subs. The secondary track is the C1 track, which is the C1 script roughly synced to the video, with all of the errors in place as is. The C1 track also contains the original fansub credits while the DarkWispers track features an updated set of credits for the newer version. We've also included the Japanese Subs for those who want them. Also! We've got our hands on the RJ2s for Perrine! We put out a bounty on AB and it got filled!

Peter Pan is a much easier project on my side thanks to actually having the original C1 fansub scripts (thanks again, Collectr!), and thanks to C1's subs actually being pretty good, especially for their age (2006). There was relatively little in terms of TLC, and I likewise didn't have to fix much grammar either. Still, I changed a few lines, and in particular removed some weebisms (no more Itadakimasu and the title of the show is also translated now). Retiming was honestly the bulk of the work (and it doesn't get easier with VFR when you're used to timing by frame). A couple of missing or grossly mistimed lines are also fixed now. Still though, pretty smooth operation overall. If only the encoding issues hadn't delayed work by over a month... Oh yeah, and since we got scripts for once, these subtitles are properly styled and typeset now too! We decided to go with the same styling as C1 as it still looks very nice and readable, and the typesetting was straightforward enough for me to understand.

Thank you for your hard work on all these wonderful classics!
Good work, Darkonius. I'm happy to see the C1 archives put to good use. Let me know when you're ready to TLC the scripts for Usagichan de Cue... ;)
Nice upgrade over the hardsubbed version. And I'm happy that you included Japanese captions too. Thanks, guys. Would you be willing to upgrade Chii's Sweet Home and New Address using DVDRip by Biraru, With subtitles by Y-F(softsubs lack songs, title cards, typesetting, which are hardsubbed)?
