Been waiting for times like this😫🤌
So I'm guessing the ADN version is better than this?
cant wait for Akasaka to flop the last arc like last time, lets goooooooooo
Does ADN use a different source than HIDIVE? If so then I'll download that one.
ADN has bad audio quality so pick your poison
That is one crazy storyline, looking forward to it!
There's no worse streaming platform than Hidive video-wise So yeah literally anything that isn't Youtube will be better
I don't care, I'm archiving the BD version later. You young bucks have no idea.... Back in my days we used to watch 360p TV rips. This is nothing.
Having bad audio in a idol anime sounds like a curse. Guess I'll stick to subsplease for now. Only reason I don't download B-Global is because my old ass PC can't handle 4K output. Why doesn't anyone do 1080p Bilibili releases?!
because 1080p bili suck ass lol
used erai-raw because i am not gonna wait an extra 1h40min when i was already so hype for it after reading the manga. I should be asleep already.
Wtf is this? Which one should I pick? B-global? Subsplease? Erai Raws? Why is this so fucked?
>So I’m guessing the ADN version is better than this? Right now: Netflix SEA > B-Global (2160p) > ADN > HIDIVE > AbemaTV Or if you wait one day, then Disney+ or Amazon might look better. >ADN has bad audio quality so pick your poison You know that you can easily mux Hidive audio with ADN video, right? Well, wouldn't do either tho, because both should be better on Netflix right now.
@DmonHiro at the time back i had an 14" green monochrome monitor, 360p in colour was a wonder
I still remember when I downloaded a TV rip of Divergence Eve - Misaki Chronicles, and could not run it. Because it was 1024x576, much larger then my resolution, and my CPU was too weak for it.
Heavy sigh and wow
HIDIVE strikes again. I'd rather wait for the BD version for a better experience.
@DmonHiro so is being anchored in the past the reason why you only release 720p stuff?
No, it's just a coincidence. I only release 720p because I prefer the size/quality ratio, as to me, most anime doesn't need 1080p. When you have as much stuff as I don, size begins to matter. And most anime aren't worth 1080p.
@DmonHiro I agreed , i have a lot of 360p animes and still watchable, animes aren't a hollywood movies .I use a 42" dispay, not much difference between 480p and uhd, just my processor can handle easier the lower resolution instead to going smoking.
@inokori What are you on about? Aka didn't flop anything, it sounds like you don't know what a flop is.
it's worth noting that b-global has garbage subs btw. i would only use their video, nothing more
@DmonHiro That's only okay as long as you don't know better. I started watching anime on streaming websites, then K came out in 2012, it looked uncanny, and I figured that I would download a proper video file somewhere to confirm my doubts. I then realized how much streaming compression and artifacts were destroying the quality, it was like a different anime. Although I agree that 1080p is overkill, 360p is pushing a bit too low, especially when we can hardly find old anime with pristine quality. But I have fiber internet and a modern screen, so 1080p it is. Also I just finished watching this and I cried.
Well, some series are only available as 360p or 480p. What can we do?
"I don’t care, I’m archiving the BD version later. You young bucks have no idea… Back in my days we used to watch 360p TV rips. This is nothing." Anyone else remember sharing VHS tapes?
Was not expecting a cry today... though I suppose one never really does.
In the VHS era, we had not enough money to buy one. It smuggled from Austria.. We watched VHS movies in pubs. with a single mans narration , both were terrible
The VHS era.... dear lord. I used to buy 3rd generation italian/german dubbed tapes with random episodes from Saint Seiya....
@DmonHiro, do you plan to pick up the recently started shows? I don't care about the video quality , bcs i have a bad eyesight , but i hate bad subs
No, I'm out of the game. For good this time. MAYBE I'll upload an OVA once in a while, of something that didn't get subbed, but other then that, I'm out.
Is HEVC doing better now? With the exception of compatibility, is the quality on par with h.264? It think it's the way to go now if you want smaller file sizes.
Is this release at least watchable? If not, I'll delete it off my drive.
Nah it's not watchable. If you try, your eyeballs will literally catch on fire and your whole family will die.
@Ahegao i watched it on my TV and it was fine but to be fair my TV is a garbage 720p samsung TV
@DoombotBL, if i remember well, (please ignore my old age) FLOP as i learned in the distant past - number of calculation floating point numbers per seconds, by the math coprocessor. Novadays it about gigaflops or even more
Subtitles are pretty good compared to what hidive usually does, netflix's are trash.
@DmonHiro is based and correct. 720p was/is still enough for most anime. What retards failed to realize for years was that the anime was natively animated at 720p even until a few years ago, and so all you were downloading was 720p anyway upscaled to 1080p. Looked literally the same. I disagree with storage space being a huge issue now though, because storage is quite cheap now. Also with the improvements in ai-based scaling we are beginning to see, in under 5 years you'll be able to play a 480p video at 4K and it will look like it was natively animated that way. 720p chads won.
I get why people don't think HDD space is an issue, but I have 48 TB of anime. If half of that is 720p, then having it at 1080p instead would mean at least twice that much. I'm not poor, but I'm not made of money either.
@DoombotBL Unfortunately, as much as I loved the manga and read every chapter the second they came out, you can't deny that the ending was unfathomably mediocre and rushed
> No, it’s just a coincidence. I only release 720p because I prefer the size/quality ratio, as to me, most anime doesn’t need 1080p. When you have as much stuff as I don, size begins to matter. And most anime aren’t worth 1080p. @DmonHiro Lol no. Keep your boomer mindset with you. "1080p, HEVC, Dual Audio, Blu-ray" is essential for archival purposes as it allows for high-quality preservation of anime, for future and long-term retrieval.
Javeskie, you almost had me. Up to the "dual audio" part, I thought you were serious. Good one.
nice, now i feel like i should just wait for whenever DmonHiro posts the BDs
