no offense but I like the USBD releases, for example if TTGA decided to upload Fruits Basket season 2 and 3 (USBD) I'll be very grateful cuz I already have season 1 and the movie.
I’ll give you one that’s on top of my head let’s say if a series is dubbed by Funimation/Crunchyroll I like the video from the USBD because it contains English written credits in the opening and ending sequence, also I appreciate TrueHD over Flac, opus and etc.
Okay. English text in the parts that have nothing to do with the story over higher quality video. Got it. Lol. Also FLAC is lossless just as TrueHD is, though the oftentimes terrible dub gets a terrible 5.1 treatment sometimes so I guess there's that. Nothing against you liking the USBD I was just genuinely curious why TTGA wouldn't simply take the new subs and English tracks and add to their remux that already exists. To each their own
That's why I asked the question. In general the JP BD is better than the US BD. All you've done for me is tell the the WEB is probably better than both
Hmm,
The only timе USBD is better is when JDM BD is physically unavailable. If someone thinks that Funi gets its low bit-rate releases from different masters, they are greatly mistaken. The same goes for scenes being better or worse. When somebody tries to convince himself it's better nothing will convince him otherwise. I assume that low quality releases outside Japan are being done on purpose to avoid saturation of Japanese market with compatible quality foreign releases which are being sold at substantially lower price than in Japan. But I have never seen Funimation releases with higher bitrate than original JDM. If someone does not understand why bit rate is important, google it. And I am talking from my experience of almost 2 decades. I don't say that every Japanese releases, perfect, occasionally, there is improvement in the lighting and sharpness, but this is a huge exception to the regular rule.
My guess why TTGA used USBD would be that they did not have access to JDM release. I have USBD and JDM releases and vouch for Japanese release being a higher-quality.
And also, I would like to mention the dubbing quality, it's being done in the home garage in Ohio. There are no professional voice actors with extremely small exception, hired by Funimation if you have some kind of disability that prevents you from watching subtitles then it's OK to watch dub. Otherwise you disrespect professional voice actors in Japan, who have more popularity in Japan than movie actors in the United States...
Most people have no idea how anime is being produced in Japan, first, the voice actors record the voice script, and totally opposite from the animation studios everywhere else, animation is being done based on the voice acting after it is completed. This should really tell you a couple of things.. For one, it is impossible to produce quality material with Post production, dubbing, only huge studios, like Disney can afford to produce quality material by hiring professional actors to do the VoiceOver
