Here is a fansub/scrub of Toei's 1967 sci-fi tokusatsu series "Captain Ultra," for which I used Toei Tokusatsu World's subs (via downsub.com) and re-timed them to chuby's h265 raw, while editing the subs for some of the words they missed and some of the things that just didn't fit. "Captain Ultra" was a filler series that aired right after "Ultraman" ended, so the network only ordered 24 episodes, and boy, did this thing end way too soon. It sort-of plays like a mix of "Star Trek," "Godzilla," and "Lost In Space," considering one of Ultra's teammates is a robot with claws for hands (and a bazooka arm!). It's all 1960's sci-fi schlock, but sometimes you need that, since sci-fi and space exploration was all the rage in the 60's, and scientists were still making discoveries about the universe; now it seems like all they have to tell us is that the world is doomed. In any case, enjoy this sub/scrub of Captain Ultra's first episode (and episode two is on the way, hopefully sooner rather than later), and be sure to seed for a while after you're done!

Good to see you back Henshin-Man!!! And with some Captain Ultra, of all fantastical things! Hope things have been going better for you these days with work and all. I was hoping you were going to show up around Christmas with some new subs (still keeping my fingers crossed for some Tiger Mask ('69) and Spectreman from you). Was beginning to be bummed that you weren't coming back : ( But hey, here you are! How's life going man?
"now it seems like all they have to tell us is that the world is doomed." If you think they weren't also telling us the world was doomed back in the 1960s, I can tell you never lived through it.

@robotoku: Hey, nice to see you're still around here too, man! I never really quit, I think I just kinda burned out from all the work I took on; now I have a better sense of what I want to do and what the easiest way is to get it done. As for Spectreman, i was able to track down some of the R2J ISOs (which look 110% better than the Portuguese ones I was using), and I have been ripping some of the raws with the h265 10-bit codec, so they look wonderful. I'll be posting eps 1-26 soon (I believe that's discs 1-4 of the Japanese release), so stay tuned! As for work, the library I worked at is FINALLY done remodeling and I am hoping (more like praying!) that I will be able to return there soon. It should be an adjustment, as the layout is completely different and it's one of those open-concept floor plans that are all the rage in homes these days. Don't know how that'll go over in a library, but we'll see, and thanks for asking about it--knowing you remembered means a lot! @theraeven2k1: You're right, I never lived through them, and I'm sorry if my rather flippant statement offended you in some way. It was only meant to be humorous.
