Decent workplace romcom with sensible progression, competent production, and a wonderful OP. All encodes sucked, so I made one that doesn’t.

I just took a job in the civil service. Do I need to watch this now?

@ts92 Those aren’t really good critera to judge the necessary bitrate for a transparent encode from. The source doesn’t compress as well as you might think, as it is quite noisy. For reference, the sergey_krs encode is crf 16.5, yet still the video has a bitrate of ~7500kbps and major starvation issues. Alternatively, you can push the filesize of these encodes down by about 500MB per episode by removing the graining from my scripts if you so wish. I just chose to denoise as to remove compression artefacting and “repair” the grain, meaning I added grain where it was prior, without starving it this time, as to preserve the intended look of the show.

Failing that, working a minimum wage job in most developed countries for the duration of time it took me to write this comment should help you amass enough funds to purchase a 32GB storage unit which would be enough to store the entirety of this release. Hope that helped.

Thanks a bunch! Was anything done to the subtitles, or were they pulled from another BD release as is?

If I had done anything to the subtitles, I would say so in the description!

@Tsukudakobashi thanks for the explanation and for open sourcing your scripts!

I could give a 100GiB for a 20y old show - also in 720p. and it is still justifiable!

For fellow bloat enthusiasts, FLAC Audio encoded from the BDMV can be found below.

U know u can just sneed the FLAC from BBT-RMX right… But again, why?

The audio encode is literally more transparent than the video encode. Don’t really get why you’d wanna waste bits :v

There’s a typo, it should be “comparison”.

I had the BDMV to hand already. Literally the only reason why I did it myself, as I’d have otherwise grabbed another release and remuxed it.

I’m archiving this as the definitive, go to release of the series. You’ve done a great job of producing an encode better than the source, so I’d personally rather have muh placebo lossless audio over a lossy transcode to go with it. I could’ve dithered it down to 16bit, and ordinarily I probably would’ve, but it’s not like storage space is at a premium.
