Thanks. Been cleaning up my NAS and replacing old series that I like and might revisit every once in a while with AV1 copies, glad there are people with the time to do big AV1 rips (I only own one computer and work too much). Used to be a "must have GB-or-bigger-per-episode archival quality everything" autistic faggot but then as I got older and my collection got bigger I realized I don't want to have to run a rackserver NAS just to keep everything I want to keep. AV1 and Opus are lifesavers, I can keep my cute little 4-drive NAS and be happy.
I hated dual-audio releases for a long time but now Opus makes it so that it doesn't really make a difference, as long as eng isn't set as the default audio track (and "signs + songs" aren't set as the default sub track) I'm golden.
Unfortunately some encoding/muxing softwares sets English as the default track, I just set my video players to default to the Japanese track, no matter what track number it is.
I do as well, or if I feel like doing actual labor I will use JMKVpropedit to batch edit the files.
After I hop off a torrent I use MKV Optimizer 3 to remove english audio/signs+songs sub bloat entirely. Also any commentary tracks etc.
