- **[2023.01.01] Made a poll about the next lossy TLMC release, please check it out: https://forms.gle/YnyjJ8wQvRCGRt3J8**
- **[2023.01.17] It has come to my attention, that rwx (the original creator of TLMC v.19 and earlier ones) has released his work version of the new stuff that will lead to his TLMC v.20 - [Link](http://www.tlmc.eu/2023/01/tlmc-timeout-version-20230114.html)**

Touhou Lossy Music Collection (TLMC) v2.5 means that you can expect more music than the standard v2 and less than future TLMC v3.
Files were converted by AIMP with 128kbit default preset to opus codec (without normalization) and split by cue.

**Q, C & A from the poll:**
[2023.01.04] Q: Is there a way to format the track/album names more consistently? I noticed some of the track files have different delimiters for indicies. like "[01]" or "01.". Sometimes the inconsistency makes automatically parsing those files hard.
> *A: Sure, there is way, but It means half-automatically checking every album, but let's be real, that's not much in my focus now since there are new albums pretty often. Somewhat plausible way would be using Total Commander's multi-rename tool, but with a bit of research there are better programs, I'm sure. This is a little workaround and I don't know your exact usage of the files, but some programs for music scan the music's metadata for tagging and the metadata should be correct.*
[2023.01.10] Q: Maybe have the newer versions not contain any tracks from the older versions?
> *A: I'll consider It, but It is hard to implement.*
[2023.01.10] C: As long as the new release done in a way where I could just transfer the files I currently have to the new release without too much hassle I'll be happy.
> *A: This corresponds to the question above, It is already possible when nothing in the archive changed (but It doesnt work much in the lossless version).*
[2023.01.13] C: Considering the size that TLMC has become, it'll be great to divide it into smaller archives, based almost purely on need to spend between $90~300 (4TB~12TB) for a good high quality NAS/long term storage drive dedicated to just TLMC, especially for data hoarder types like myself who tries my best to keep all my rare shit from bitrot, data loss from external sources, and the unlucky ~5% drive failure rate that nearly all hdds have during it's first 3 years. Plus, dividing into multiple archives will allow for more healthy torrents because not everyone can dedicate their resources to the whole folder, and allows people to more easily pick and choose what to download. As it is now, TLMC is kept alive by some serious madlads who have the whole archive, followed with others who only want certain stuff from certain circles, creating a bit of discrepency with certain files. Also by dividing into smaller archives among circles, it'll be more easy to track what people like and be able to more easily allocate more resources towards torrent archives that may require it.
> *A: The poll is about lossy version. I'm nevertheless grateful for this extensive comment, but I'd like to adress a few things. I understand that TLMC v.19 wasn't archived, but It isn't 2018 quite a few weeks now. I am honestly excited how it rwx handles in June (at which time v.20 should be released). One of few things I liked about archives in general are making It easier to move and making an easy track if some goes bad, because of hdd errors, instead of checking each file manually (I also hate 99.9% torrent...). It kinda enforces having backup for the unarchived stuff, too. My main goal is to keep the lossless stuff for the "madlads" or atleast the DIY ones, too, so about your comment on dividing by size, I would do it up to the size of 5TB HDD (current max size of external 2,5") so in early 2025 I suppose. Old smaller, unreliable, drives don't seem to be worth It for anyone although they may be cheap.
For those people which want a few albums in flac, I don't think their main source is this lossless torrent, or is it? Either way the nyaa (and other trackers have some limits too, mostly only supporting v1) limit is around 20MB/torrent file v1, so to remove this limit, I can only think of making torrent of torrent file leading to TLMC which can drag some "not madlads" people away. For those I want the lossy stuff. And could you elaborate further about the 192kbit vorbis and it's transparency? It seemed like you know the deal.*
