@kamikaze00007 season 1 has 15 episodes only
@sff I have the GuodongSubs version to check, and it indeed does have 16 episodes. The final episode at first looks like the same as another episode (the cross hostage episode) but in episode 16 MC changes the past (because this is his time-leaped version now) and the events change leading to season 2. EDIT: Okay, now I understand what's causing the confusion. AniDB labels the season as 15 episodes and episode 16 as S1 (special 1 Episode 10 Remake). This is incorrect as it's not meant to be a special nor a technical Remake and is instead just the final episode for the season based on watching the entire thing.
@kamikaze00007 ... Thank you for the heads up. A comment from "TechChef" in the GuodongSubs thread... "I nerded it up hardcore and did a side-by-side. I reaaalllly wanted to know. So “EP:16” aka remake EP:10, is missing about 5 minutes of flashbacks (back story) of the evil bitch that kills Sūn Róng and her master when she was younger. Also instead of her master blowing himself up, Cultivator Zhuo ties the old dude to the crucifix and raises him via the rope. That’s it." So, now the real question... Which version of Ep10 are we dealing with? I've never watched the show yet so I'm not the best to sort this out. Has there been an English dub of Ep16 or both versions of Ep15? I guess for now I'll grab both Ep16 and Ep10 from GuodongSubs and hope to find a proper English audio track in the future.
@tktorrents So let me tell you how the story goes and why EP:16 happens. NOTE: They didn't "Remake" EP:16 for any technical reasons at all like missing scenes or change scenes. It is a time-leap episode. From EP:10 Sun Rong's assassin's master, the old dude, ties Wang Ling on the cross at the rooftop of the school. Shenanigans ensue, and Wang Ling leisurely sleeps on the cross because he knows Sun Rong and company can deal with the old dude. The battle happens, and the old dude fights off Sun Rong and co. This eventually causes the old dude to push himself too hard that he dies later on, especially because he was basically doping himself up and pushing his limits already. This causes the events of the later episodes, where Sun Rong's assassin basically goes on a suicidal spree that leads her to killing Sun Rong, and Wang Ling destroying the world because of her death. By EP:15 Wang Ling cannot bring the dead back to life, so he remakes the world again and again in order to find a version where Sun Rong lives. He fails. What he ends up doing is turning back time via doing a Time-Leap (a la Steins;Gate). He sends himself back to EP:10. EP:16 comes in here. Time-leaping back into EP:10, Wang Ling now knows that if he leisurely sleeps on the cross the old man will eventually die, leading to Sun Rong also dying later on. He acts this time and deals with the old man (thus tying him bondage-style to the cross instead). The incident is settled without the old man dying--thus the assassin girl doesn't lose her mind in revenge, Sun Rong is safe, and the events of the future get changed. The reason it ends in the start of the battle game was because that was when Sun Rong dies originally. Now she doesn't. This is the route that leads to Season 2. So yeah, this is what I'm saying about why EP:16 is the last episode and not a special. It is a direct continuation of the story after Episode 15. We can't really have the world ending in the last episode, do we?
@kamikaze00007 Makes sense to me and thank you for the description... Have you happened to figure out which episode 10 is included here? Mostly just need to know which episode I'm missing. I'll eventually compare from the GuodongSubs, but figured if you already know I can start looking for the other version no matter if it's called ep16 or ep10 (v1 vs v2). @sff as well.

@tktorrents @kamikaze00007 I will check if there is any dub of that episode and i do find it then i will post it. But i will make sure to add that episode in my new post for s1 later
@tktorrents I think sff is just missing EP16. Releases here usually use the general pattern you can see on the data in AniDB based on my experience. I don't know how they actually set things up here but that's the general rule I see. The reason for it missing is probably as I said, it was labeled a Special instead of an actual episode. Normally Specials are either uploaded separately or on a "complete" compilation labeled as such. @sff sorry this entire thing got long fam. No pressure from me. This is actually the first time I encountered something like this, and it's honestly understandable given this is a Chinese anime we're talking about.
pity there's no signs sub.
@sff I finally found the time to do a one to one comparison of Ep10 & Ep16. Episode 10 in this collection is actually Episode 16. So this torrent is missing the original Episode 10 with English Dub. It's hard to notice as they're identical until a little less than 15 minutes in, then there's an extra scene in Ep10 before syncing back up... not long after that though the endings take VERY different turns. Easiest way to tell is that Ep10 is longer @ ~28min vs Ep16 @ ~23min

@tktorrents i did check Crunchyroll so that i can rip ep 16 but there were only 15 eps, also if my ep 10 is actually ep 16 this means that there in no content missing in this batch ri8
@sff lol, well... Ep10 plays out differently. Basically, it's a time travel story. Ep10 plays out the original way (so the ending is different) and then in Ep16 they travel back in time into Ep10 and change to future so Ep16 changes the series. Basically what we have here are episodes 1-9 and then Episodes 11-16. Episode 10 here is incorrectly labeled and should be called Ep16. As @kamikaze00007 mentioned, AniDB lists the title of Episode 16 proper as "Episode 10 remake"... so it seems that streaming services got confused and placed Episode 16 into the Episode 10 slot thinking it was a literal remake of Episode 10... when it's just an unfortunate title causing some confusion. It's not really your fault @sff, CR at the very least screwed the pooch on understanding what Episode 16 really is and deleted the real Episode 10. I'm just not sure where the real Episode 10 with English audio can be viewed at this stage. As you can see here: https://nyaa.si/view/1263678 GuodongSubs has all 16 episodes. If you watch both Ep10 and E16 side by side it's just under 15min in when the episodes begin to diverge. Their Ep16 is your Ep10.

@sff No worries, it's not your fault CR and other streamers messed up, ha. Still appreciate the work you've done and for now I'll just keep a subs only version of Episode 10. :)
