I don’t fault anyone for gravitating towards low audio bitrates if they have bargain bin headphones that smell like their grandmother’s farts, or built-in TV speakers. If this is you, then yeah, you won’t hear a difference between FLAC. As for the rest of us with better headphones and nicer external TV speakers, there really is a noticeable difference. Enough difference to be more enjoyable with FLAC? Yes. Enough difference with AAC and Opus to be a distraction? No.

That said, no one should be complaining about things they didn’t pay for. Maybe ask nicely for <whatever preference>.
