Btw. just noticed, it has a wrong filename, it has 1995 in the title of every episode. But Stand Alone Complex was after 2000, just the original movie was in the 90s.

**@ot4ku:** You aren't wrong, but missing one detail. I'm trying to make my releases as compatible with indexing software like emby and radarr/sonarr, as possible. TheTVDB and other database sites are using 1995 as its publishing year, since one of GITS's specials (Ghost in the Shell - Movie) has been released in that year and basically starts the SAC story. I'm sorry, if that's not how you manage your media-library, but I can't satisfy everyone's needs :/

I see, but TVDB has it wrong, they seem not to know about anime if they think its from 1995 just because a movie with the same name was from 1995. And you are also wrong with your statement about starting the SAC story. SAC plays in a alternate timeline, its just the same usinervse. Same as GitS Arise. If you watched the movie and the series you would know that. I corrected the filenames to the correct names on my harddisc. You seem to be new tio anime, i recommend you anidb.net or myanimelist.net for a good source about correct anime information. If you rely on TVDB you should correct the database if the use a wrong one, but i dont think anyone knowing about anime would use that site anyway.

**@ot4ku:** TheTVDB does seem to be wrong. Probably because it's mostly a community driven website, just like a lof of others. I have not yet seen GITS in it's entirety, and if your claim is correct, I am wholeheartedly sorry for bringing up facts without double checking them. I've kept my hands away from naming my media after anidb.net, since it's entries are almost entirely in japanese (title). It does however also **not** contain Pyrophoric Cult aka Border 5. Only because it is just Ep 9 and 10 (from Alternative Architecture), stitched together. I respect your feedback and will definitely start checking mutliple websites in the future. Thanks.

anidb.net tends to have the most correct information - it's community driven but they are very hardcore about sourcing for edits and determining accuracy. Any requests or updates to entries must be justified and are also audited. Some mistakes still get made but they are VERY rare for older entries (mistakes usually only happen on new stuff and get corrected relatively quickly) - as you would expect from a hardcore otaku site. TVDB is community driven but not a hardcore otaku site, so they don't care about having super accurate information about anime. Anidb.net is ONLY about Japanese Anime. Also I don't know how you are connecting to anidb, but I never have a problem finding english anime titles or english episode titles on there. In fact, they are the default. English is the official site language more or less. Make sure you log in and set up a profile before assuming it's a bad source of info - perhaps the default guest/not-logged-in settings made the site difficult for you to use. AniDB follows the database philosophy of "don't repeat the exact same information under different IDs - all tuples/rows in a database should represent unique information" - that's why Pyrophoric Cult is not its own anime entry there, because it already exists under https://anidb.net/anime/11023 - if the content was recut or repackaged significantly with less or more footage etc (such as a directors cut), then it could have its own unique anime ID entry with the relationship to the parent entry ID set to "alternative version." Since Pyrophoric Cult does not exist as its own entry, then whatever version you are discussing here is not unique enough to be differentiated from the Arise/Alternative Architecture episodes.

Also for what it's worth, most anime nerds will have HAMA and Absolute Series Scanner installed on their Plex Media Server instances (or similar plugins for other platforms). HAMA/ASS support anidb really well. If there is some confusion, I need only put [anidb-11023] (or whatever the entry ID of the series is) at the end of the folder name and it will get the correct information. If for some reason that doesn't work (rare), I can do "Fix Match" in Plex and the correct anidb entry is usually at the very top of the automatic search results with a match rating of 100 without me having to do anything else (which makes it confusing as to why it doesn't set itself correctly automatically, but whatever).

**@nph** The Japanese titles I was talking about are the episode titles fetched with FileBot. I know about the edit proposal system on AniDB, but their decision to not create an additional entry for pyrophoric cult is illogical. https://anidb.net/anime/11023 is a series which includes much more than just pyrophoric cult. Anyone who didn't read comment sections on multiple sites will have trouble finding it, if it's not even there. I'm sure their database wouldn't blow up, if they added separate entry for it, instead of acting like it doesn't exist at all. ___ Absolute Series Scanner: Making assumptions about what plugins people have possible installed is never a good thing. Just the fact that this application is not even available for emby or jellyfin, makes it already entirely irrelevant for me. ___ As I've said before, I did not check whether the *year*, FileBot put on this series, is correct. For anyone trying to watch after the airing date, will likely have a harder time, than if there were none at all. Nevertheless, the disclaimer in my description, that these file names are meant to be compatible with emby and whatnot, was initially meant for the "S01E01" format, since I've already been attacked about this one as well. After providing the media server with either tvdb's or anidb's id of Stand Alone Complex, everything is indexed properly, which was the initial goal. Anyways, Happy new year

FYI, this release is no good at all. Whoever did the 3:2 pulldown when doing the deinterlace absolutely screwed it up. It resulted in a repeated frame every 4th frame. I.E: 1 2 3 4 4 5 6 7 8 8 for example in frame orders. You can see this because the framerate SHOULD be 23.976 but is instead 29.97. This also results in extremely inflated file size as you're encoding 25% extra frames that were inserted incorrectly.
