will you catch up fast enough? I don't think this anime deserves a decent release, to begin with, but if you publish episodes 24 hours after I might wait for you.
We've fansubbed every season of this show aside from the first (though there has been discussions in the past of doing it for consistencies sake). As far as I'm aware we're the only English group that has worked on this show past the first season.
As for catching up, technically we already are. We did talk about releasing a sub-only version before and then the dual-audio at a later time when available but the dub happened to come out the same day we got the subs finished for the first episode. So going forward the plan is to hopefully get an episode out each week on the same day the dub is released. If it's anything like past projects our team has done, this doesn't cause any delays as we're still working on the subs up until that time anyways.
We're also looking into switching over to FUNi audio for both tracks going forward, but we used CR audio on this episode as our FUNi ripper broke and we didn't have a supplier lined up because we actually thought FUNi was discontinuing to stream things on their platform this season so it came as a surprise. Unknown currently if we'll update this episode immediately or wait for the season batch.
But we're not holding episodes while waiting. We were accused of this back with Steins;Gate 0 as well, but truthfully as I stated above, we are working on the subtitles until the day of release.

Overlord's dub is only 2 weeks behind and we got a little bit of a late start on getting some of the last minute team members on board. A lot of the delays are also due to staff member schedules from real life and time zones differences. Quite a bit of stuff going on during the summer months for some of us. So a one week turn around on episodes going forward I believe is pretty good pace.
Personally I'm just thankful that everything came together and we managed to get the ball rolling (cause the last in-house sub job, Fire Force, died after S02E01) and that we got a TLC to agree to work on Overlord because oh boy the official subs this season has had it's share of TL errors.
I see, I also noticed some really dumb errors such as Paradyne-->Paladin. Makes me wonder if the translator even knows what's happening in the series as a whole.
Hell, CR's subs for this season (not just this show) aren't exactly great just from a reader's perspective either. Sony's adoption of the Crunchyroll business model (fast and cheap) for all of their services seems to be taking its toll already.
I guess it does mean we have decent-ish raws for everything though.
