Multiple people asked me for this so here it is.
Netflix and Amazon VBR trade blows for which has the most detail and/or the least artifacts, merged the detail from both sources.
Applied a gentle blur to get rid of the horrendous oversharpening, looks much more natural now.
Halos are also gone.
The rest is the usual denoising, debanding, graining routine.
Amazon audio.
Commie subs.
Netflix chapters.
NOTE: I came up with way better dehaloing after releasing this, next episode will have more halos removed and less blur.
File list
[Aergia] Call of the Night 01 [WEBRip 1920x1080 AVC EAC3].mkv (783.8 MiB)
If you don't mind saying, what'd you use to merge the sources? I've tried that with a few different things in the past (including this very episode) and it never worked out as well as this.
The idea is pretty simple, just a random thought I had one day
It goes like this:
Blur both clips
Get the differences between the original clip and blurred version
Take the pixel that had the bigger difference
