Same here. HDTV is sadly currently the only best available. BD’s really suck.
Long ago I tried to make my own recut/edit. Even photoshopped away the remaining filler characters in the early Arrancar story.
But lost everything of my progress and just can’t sacrifice the long hours for that anymore.

Aren’t those all early digitally animated anime though? There is nothing HD about those.
But it is still impressive that Bleach BD’s have a worse quality than DVD’s.

Yes but if the original source resolution of Bleach wasn’t very high to begin with. Despite the show being in “HD” post episode 168+, episodes where still produced in lower resolutions. IIRC a majority of later “HD” episodes where still 486i just upscaled for the TV broadcast.

The HDTV rips are the only good quality. Not unless Pierrot has some better quality sources stashed somewhere.

Why does the switch from 576p DVD to 720p Webrip only happen as late as episode 152? Taka did 720p webrips of the show as early as episode 92 and onwards (plus episode 85). For that matter, why does the switch to bluray only happen from episode 216 and onwards? Does there not exist any available bluray source for any of the episodes before that?

Also, what subs are used for these? Dattebayo? Hatsuyuki? Taka? Official (CR/Horriblesubs etc)? Video quality isn’t everything, good sub quality should be equally important for an archive release.

I was so happy when I see someone lastly make BD pack, but I lost all my joy when I see you cut fillers… I can understand you are making alternative version with cut content but making it main version without fillers is not ok… Heck you even cut some important mostly filler scenes you shouldn’t, there is a lot important stuff in those episodes and some of them are not important but quite enjoyable to watch like episode 469, it’s literaly episode we lastly see Kakashi’s face. You seriously going to tell me it’s not important episode?! You realy should make another version without cut content and that would be logical and great… I hope you will, thanks…

Also I was wondering as to why this specific release behaves so strangely when seeking backwards by keyframes (only in mpv, another player I tested works fine).
First time seeing such thing. The exact seeking isn’t affected at all. Not really a problem, just something that piqued my interest a bit.

How long is this compared to Naruto Kai? Around the same minutes?

Not sure, this should be around 80-90 hours I think since it’s about half the length of the uncut 500 episodes.
