It is **not** an upscale of the DBox DVDs. An uncle or two were involved We all know DBox is for all intents and purposes the way DBZ was intended to be seen (yes, green skies and lobster skin) according to the extremely well-informed VegettoEX. But if you're an extremely misinformed individual like myself, Dbox hella ugly and this release is a little more pleasing to the eyes especially on a large TV > Q: Is this the most absolute perfectest epic release??? > A: No, the episodes are like 12GB too small and 15 useless audio tracks short of that. > Q: Does this have more detail than DBox? > A: Yes >Q: Does this have less detail than DBox? >A: Yes >Q: Omg which one should I watch then?!? >A: They both have advantages and disadvantages over the other so check them both yourself and use your own eyes to determine which you find more pleasing to look at and watch that. If you prefer DBox over this, then I didn't make this for you so don't bother whining about it >Q: Is this colour corrected? >A: No. I just did one episode-wide color adjustment on some eps if I liked it better adjusted. I'm a colour expert and represent colour science so don't question my adjustments. Only far right conspiracy theorists would do that. >Q: IA is the future!!! You had do an usage of the inteligencia artificial?!? >A: I didn't use any AI here >Q: When are the next eps coming? >A: When VegettoEX from Kanzenshuu.com says >Q: When is the V4 release due? >A: I won't do any revised uploads. if you catch some errors that stop you from being able to watch the whole release until its fixed, fix it yourself

Very based thank you Look at the upgrade https://imgsli.com/MTAwODE4
I can't believe the raw DBox masters are finally found! Thank you Edward Nigmo for your contribution!
thank you so much

holy mother of fuck, those comparison shots are insane
Big TV Playa. Talkin G5 A e r o p l a n e.
Nice try, but it's just the Spanish BDs with filters, or at least have the same framing (suspicious): https://slow.pics/c/G8zAQoKi
@fabrebatalla18 No it isn't
So coincidentally it has the same timing and the same framing...
@fabrebatalla18 Yes.
I only see 2 options: - It is the source that SelectaVisión used for its AI Upscale + DNR with color correction. - It is the Spanish BD (SelectaVisión) filtered to trolling. The result is interesting, I must admit, but it would be nice to be honest with the source
@fabrebatalla18 If he was honest with his source he would have the Toei ninja's come to his house
What? 6gb per ep? No thanks. I'll pass.
quality is insane man,thanx for sharing :)
This is filtered Spanish BD. The result looks great, but the source is really bad. Thank you for improve the Selecta Vision's """remaster""", is better than a 2003 DVD, a cropped BluRay and with DNR to 3000%, an incomplete BluRay and a poor AI upscale
@ Hugo2003DBZ By _incomplete_, what are you referring to? Does make sense he used Selecta's source as that's the exact amount episodes of the first Blu-ray box.
Hahahaha... Nice try but no ty ! It's just Selecta BD filtered. So crap just report for troll.
Great release and good quality, thanks! Will likely be replacing my Dbox merge by this as it releases @Impakt I think he means the Level Sets? Since those were cancelled
@ ThatNani Thought he meant in terms of content (dub/sub).
@Impakt Yeah, I'm referring to Level Sets. This torrent have the exact same detail level that the Spanish BD, but it is more pleasing to the eye. ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/c1KHpSSW-/vlcsnap-2022-03-22-10h27m46s966.png)
Artificial grain when implemented correctly does look nice. Selecta's DB "Remaster" with fake grain can look very pleasing, too. After Selecta's done with the 14 boxes, they're very likely gonna do a GT release.
why no dragonball classic first? shit release kappa
Dragon Ball Z is a classic.
To this day, I still wonder why they laugh at this troll.
@Impakt i don't watch DBZ before DB. Not saying DBZ isn't "a" classic, but it's just not dragonball with kid goku. Only Muricans watch Z before DB
so this is [scoped] dbz? nice.
Enigmoses is back at it again!
@Gradius what's wrong with 6gb episodes? It's a filtered 1080p BD, it's not going to be a small encode
> Artificial grain when implemented correctly does look nice. You can also get samples of real grain and use it to grain the video, which gives it a more natural look
@fabrebatalla18 Use your brain and don't take that seriously .
This genuinely looks better than the source itself. It would be nice to see all 291 episodes with this treatment, so here's hoping it does happen.
Some people here are so dumb. It’s not called dbox+ because it has anything to do with the DVDs. The name is because selecta used the original dbox digibeta masters and he undone their filtering and the result now looks like an upgraded dbox
The wallpapers look really nice of Box 1. But anyway, hope Enigmo or someone does filter the SV episodes like this or similarly.
@ Impakt As far as I know, the filtering is very fast as it's just a slight blur and some digital noise added, the main issue would likely be having someone willing to buy and upload all boxes, since the total cost adds up to 840€
@Impakt still no news on when dbz sv boxes be available here?
Next week. The lossless Spanish audio still doesn't seem to sound quite as good as Boing's.
That's because the "lossless Spanish audio(and Galician, catalan and basque)" is fake DTS from the AC3 of DVDs. So, episodes 49-291 are brutally and unnecessarily filtered. The audio quality is bad as hell. And yeah, the only audio that have the correct pitch is valencian dub, because is the only audio from original Betacam masters.
What's even worse is that they removed the dubbed openings with the Japanese. If people want to watch it dubbed and it's available, then there's no reason to replace it. Heck, the DVDs have it.
Only the first edition have the opening and ending dubbed as extra, but in the episodes is in japanese. And that extra don't have Galician audio xD
That's the one I still have - Remastered Edition (400GB). I'm disappointed with this release, but Enigmo has showed it can look artificially great.
*sniff* ya'll got any more of that nigmo ?
@Impakt can you seed that torrent? The Remastered edition (400GG) of Selecta
@ Hugo2003DBZ Send me a PM thru Discord at Impakt#1495 if you have it so I can arrange to privately seed it.
What is the audio source?
@Ichiro4000 Team Mirolo audio
@ThatNani There is a lot more done here than just blur and grain. Slight color correction, chromatic aberration reduction, etc.
Thank you for the time and effort it has taken writing the incredible description, I loved it. Sorry to be a bother, but is it possible anyone could seed this original UK TV 500gb torrent? Many thanks if you can help [SoM] Dragon Ball / Z / GT - Westwood Dub & Blue Water Dub (UK CANADA Broadcast Collection) [Hi-Fi] [Mono] [Stereo] https://nyaa.si/view/1320921
@lfksilhb This is what you want. Episodes look better and organized from that original resource you linked https://nyaa.si/view/1494816
I personally downloaded portions of that torrent. Just the DB stuff, maybe GT, but not Z as it was given a professional release by dedicated fans.
So what exactly is this? Just selecta vision bd with fake grain added? 🤔 Why is this getting so much attention? 🤔
@Bodhi Look at the comparisons
I tried to replicate this, but in 720p. I think that is better in 720p, or even in 540p. The Spanish BD is an upscale of a SD master... ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/j2ZZ01K5/DBZ001test-mov-snapshot-19-55-912.png) Obviously, Enigmo version is better than this shit.
Honestly I think it looks even better when you stab yourself in both eyeballs. What happens then is your other senses pick up the slack for your lack of sight, and then you get this entirely new way to watch Dragon Ball which is technically how Akira Toriyama first saw it in his head. These Daredevil echo-location masters are the closest thing to experiencing the raw spark of imagination for an idea you did not come up with because you are contrarian scum and don't have a creative or artistic bone in your body or thought n your head. But I digress, stab yourself.
This Dragon Box Z upscale slightly provides a bit more picture on the left as per the [screenshot comparison](https://imgsli.com/MTAwNjA1) by Enigmo. That's great. No point getting the Saiyan arc with Dbox+ quality due to the Level Sets (imo), but from 040-291 it will be.
@Impakt Level Sets are fucking terrible I'd rather watch this. Level Sets are from an old data telecine from 2012 and the telecine black crushed dark details. It's not the fault of the prints themselves but because the scanner FUNimation uses doesn't do any proper adjustments to account for how dark the prints were. Look at The FemboyFilms screenshots on Twitter for example. Probably from the same printing method and way more dark details and sharper picture. The level sets have such a small jump in PQ over the raw DBox Digibeta masters it's kinda hilarious. The only reason people praise it so much is because of grain and the aspect ratio. Which is funny because the grain being as intense and overbearing as it is only comes from the fact the telecine sharpened the image when being passed through so the grain is a lot muddier than it should be. Level Sets on their own despite being restored decently well cannot be recovered because of how mediocre and outdated the scan is
bro how long is it gonna be until someone just makes a low size encode of db and dbz that retains most of the quality. have been waiting for a release like that for forever but it never comes
```>small file size``` ```>adequate quality for a grainy show``` pick one
Why is everyone in the db community assholes lol, theres plenty of anime on this site that balances episodes out at ~600MBs per ep while retaining most of the quality. The 2DS encode was pretty good a bit more on the low size side but for some reason shittily cut out all the OPs EDs and NEPs from each ep. Seems deleted now but someone made an encode for SoM's release of DB for 82GBs all up and looked pretty damn faithful.
There's a x265 release of the Level Sets on Snahp and it's commendable he made it, but looking at the screenshot shows the compression despite being the best, the picture quality still took a hit. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/DOOJs7C.png) You either choose quality or a low file size, you can't have both.
So how do you guys think this compares to the dbox upscales floating around the internet?
This. Nigmo's DBox+ release is far better and some even think it's a native HD Remaster because of how good it looks. ![alt text](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/406965149124001803/955617235739754596/unknown.png) It's unfortunate FUNimation ruined the 30A release.
@Impakt I think our views on preserving quality is a lot different. Here's an example of a huge reduction of size but not much quality lost: https://slow.pics/c/6pFzYXs6 As long as you can watch the original rip and encode side by side and not tell a big difference, that's completely fine for me, but for some reason I've only found shit ones for DB and DBZ so far. Some people don't have 900GBs around to spare for 1 anime when it could be compressed down to ~150GBs with little difference to the average person. Its just something I've noticed that other animes seem to always have a nice sweetspot encode but DB + DBZ are either really shit like the [a-S] encode or really high quality focused like the SoM one.
enigmowo
@nouryoku - Again, anything grainy is not going to look good if you compress it heavily unfortunately, even to the average person. Most anime on this site is modern which compress exceptionally well and doesn't have any grain to worry about, just like your Battle of Gods example. At worst, you may deal with some light artificial noise. The best you'll get for the Dragon Box source is about 600MB an episode, and even that doesn't look very good in motion. It's literally just the nature of the source, I'm afraid. The aforementioned 2DS encode that removed OPs, EDs, and NEPs to save on space is definitely a smart way of going about things, though you'll run into issues with grain clarity, particularly in motion. Either way, the reason you don't see these kinds of encodes in the Dragon Ball space is because the majority of people just don't care about it. Dragon Ball has famously been shafted with terrible home releases courtesy of Funimation and Toei, so the emphasis has and always will be on producing the highest quality work possible at all times. Those who aren't sensitive to quality have said wealth of official releases to draw from. As far as x265 goes, it's not hugely viable for grainy sources at sub-4K resolution sources due to the way it designates blocks when encoding. You'll either end up with smoothed over results or you'll find almost no gains over an x264 counterpart. So it's really not a case of anyone being an asshole or elitist or any other buzzword, it's just people being realistic about what they're working with and what the goals of this community are.
> encode that removed OPs, EDs, and NEPs to save on space Fansubs did that way back and even then I hated. Personally, I wanted the whole experience, not just the episode itself. I dl'ed AHQ releases back then and was pretty disappointed since it wasn't "high quality" or complete. Those days are gone, thankfully. Folks can choose to have it however they please these days.
@-___- I can never understand how people find x265 on fucking DVDs acceptable. You are encoding MPEG/MPEG-2 video into a format made for high-resolution content. Even on 1080p HEVC has garbage like destroyed dark details. People might as well be watching anime on Crunchyroll or 9anime at that point. And like you said there are plenty of alternatives. If people want to watch DBZ they can just download and remux the FUNimation DBoxes which have 900 MB- 1GB episodes which are somewhat manageable. Or...just encode it themselves if they want to be picky lol. And for a high action show like DBZ encoding grainy content in x265 is kinda a death sentence because the way x265 deals with blocking and compression will make details look like blobs
I compared the opening with DBOX, at some scenes colours are worse than DBox. Definiton is better tho, its source is BD after all. edit I didn't check the whole video but the colours look better than DBox in the first scenes.
BTW I prefer a grainless version if possible
@Fukanzenta3CeLL Why?
@Venny I read in the comments about fake grain, there's no need of any fake or natural grain, though natural grain is preffered instead of the case of grain removal process such as using filters.. (that's the case of Kai as I know. If fake grain is added to selecta vision release in this release there's no need for that imo. Grain forms in case of aging as I know, it's not in the source in perfect form.. I hope I could state my opinion well. This is good btw, as I stated in my recent comments definition is superb:)
>Grain forms in case of aging as I know, it’s not in the source in perfect form No, film grain is just an inherent part of the format.
@Fukanzenta3CeLL That's not how grain works lol.
dude upscale or not it looks good, please somebody seed this!
I calculated, if this gets finished it will be 1,5-2TB big.
Box 2 is out, but seems he only did the first as a sample. Wish he'd do all of it 'cause it really looks damn good.
He's working on box 2 at the moment. People have lives lmao
Okay, no need to sound so defensive. Enigmo tends to change his mind so wouldn't be surprising if he'd not do the rest.
How can an upscale have more detail than the original? Can somebody explain this?
AI upscaling generates new detail using 'machine learning' to fill in the gaps. It's why it's so computationally expensive to do on video where you have around 1500 pictures per minute of footage.
@Fukanzenta3CeLL The Blu-ray upscales from the raw Dragon Box masters which inherently have more detail than the DVDs do. So because of this despite the Blu-Ray being an upscale you get more detail than the DVDs normally would
Any word on Box 2
As mentioned in the comments earlier, box 2 is being worked on. It's probably just one person working on these in their spare time, so it might take awhile.
What about Classic Dragonball? I prefer to watch it in release order
https://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Seasons-Collection-Exclusive/dp/B075KZBHD6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2XHCBQRSNJZPI&keywords=digitally+remastered+dragon+ball+z+movie+pack&qid=1655419145&s=instant-video&sprefix=digitally+remastered+dragon+ball+z+movie+%2Cinstant-video%2C901&sr=1-1&tag=coa_row-20 is this any good? it says 4:3 original aspect ratio.
SV removed grain with some filters. I don't want any sort of grains why did u add artificial grain? Is there an appeal to grain?
he added it because it looks funny
I came to the conclusion that iKaos's Dragon Box release is the ultimate release. No need for filtered SV BDs. I'm ok with SD video up until TOEI does their own BD release.
Forget my previous comment, Dragon Box detail and clarity is really bad, Kai is the way to go till Dragon Ball, Z & GT receieves fhd remaster by TOEI.
Hi all! it's Enigmo's spokesperson, here, Venny. I know everyone has had one question on their mind since March: "WHERE ARE THE NEXT EPISODES?!?!?" I know many will fall to the conclusion that, in likely Enigmo fashion, this torrent was just a troll...or a tease, of some kind. However, as a fact checker, I can tell you that is in fact not the case. The reason for the hold-up is that Enigmo was looking forward to SV Box 3. He thought Box 2 was quite boring. Unfortunately, though, JDcocks (or whatever his name is) has decided to not buy and rip any further SV DBZ Blu-rays. Some say this was because iKaos convinced him not to. It is due to this that Enigmo's release of DBZ (The Perfect Edition) has been postponed.
Lol man fuckin ikaos smh you ruined everything
Hello. Can anybody share the Remux for the rest of the series? If I can acquire these remuxes, I would be able to continue this legendary Dbox+ release free of charge. I have discovered the process. I will even colour correct it.
@DrBALL We would be able to help you achieve this. Please contact us via our Discord: discord.gg/gUurF3qfDx
Wanted to come back and post this. Can't believe I have to say this, but the comment I posted above was a troll post. Kaos DID NOT tell people to stop buying Blu-Rays nor would that even have stopped JD from buying them anyway. Stop sending retarded messages to Kaos and SoM about it. That is all.
@LunarienAphelioak This site amigo. I have no intention of joining a shady Discord server and beg strangers, for a mediocre release just to have a chance to fix it. If you want to see more of the legendary Dbox+ release + colour correction, then upload Box 2 and the rest to Nyaa There is no other way. Imagine ALL OF DBZ IN 1080p HD! + CC
