This is a little something I worked on while procrastinating on Nichijou (next ep soon, I promise). I enjoyed White Album 2 and was disappointed by the lack of good releases available for the first White Album. After downloading the BDMV, I understood why. Excluding some terrible upscales (QTEC etc) this has got to be one of the worst-looking releases I've come across. The two main issues are the cross-conversion and banding which is only exacerbated by the ridiculously small file size because half of it is just empty padding as mentioned [here](https://nyaa.si/view/1354092). Post-processing includes IVTC, edgefixing, destripe, rescale, denoise, deband and regrain. I had to go a little heavier on the filtering than I would normally like to make it watchable so expect some detail loss in the usual places but it is what it is. Subs are Eclipse & TMD-Raze which I took from Judas who took it from Coalgirls. I made some slight adjustments including increasing the vertical margin. Don't expect any further episodes because my priority is to finish Nichijou. Think of this as a proof of concept, I guess. [comparisons](https://slow.pics/c/DCPTDGAY)

You missed the chroma shift Also, it should still be possible to fix those really bad dirty lines aslong as the offset doesnt change within the same frame, no need to crop it

You're right about the chroma shift, I missed that one. I didn't have much luck with the dirty lines. Even when I thought I removed it, they would come back when destriping. I didn't go through all the available edgefixing filters though so maybe it is possible to fix them without cropping.
Aslong as the brightness offset doesnt change within the frame rektlvls should fix them almost perfectly. You'll still have issues with pixels that are so overbrightened they've been clipped though, those will need to be postprocessed with something like bbmod or edgefixer.

Thanks, I'll look into it.
