Here are episodes 1 and 2 of that OTHER Lion Maru, Fuun (or Storm Cloud) Lion Maru, with full English subtitles. The raws were ripped from the Portuguese ISOs in 576p. The fansubs include the original Japanese audio in AAC format, and have softsubs. I won't be doing a hardsub version of these files unless someone really needs them. The subtitles began their long life back in 2004 when Bycrosser translated the Portuguese dub and timed his dubtitles to a different raw. When I made my raws, I had to re-time most of the dialogue and change the majority of the dubtitles over to a proper translation. I also had to remove some dubtitles that didn't match the action on screen; apparently the Portuguese dubbers had replaced all the grunts and shouts with threats and expletives. *sigh* Thanks goes out to Bycrosser for laying out the template way back when, and to SFX Japan/Kaiju, who held onto these files all these years and passed them along to me. If you're not familiar with the Lion Maru series, it is actually a franchise of tokusatsu shows from the early 70's that were produced by P Productions, the kooky group behind Ambassador Magma, Spectreman, Tiger Seven, and other rarities. Fuun was the second Lion Maru series, following right after Kaiketsu, and featured a full-body lion costume for the hero and a whole new scenario & transformation (which involved some kind of rocket pack that somehow worked in the days of feudal Japan). In this series, Dan Shishimaru becomes Lion Maru when his brother, who is also named Dan, is killed by the monsters of the Mantle Clan, who live underground and intend to take over Japan. Although the series appears to take place in the Meiji era, with lots of samurai and sword-swinging, there is also a hefty helping of 19th century tech, such as a bazooka that fires with a long dynamite fuse, and in episode 3, a large armored armadillo vehicle that has a form of tank cannon in it. Like I said, P Productions was kooky at times. This Lion Maru series only lasted 25 episodes before being canceled due to low ratings, but it still holds up after all this time, and has its own camp of loyal fans. This entry also introduced a third "Maru" character, known as Black Jaguar, to the canon, who first appears in episode 2. Tiger Joe Jr., a successor to the Tiger Joe that was in the first Lion Maru series, appears in later episodes. If you've ever wanted to see what the fuss over Lion Maru is about, or if you're a fan of P Productions shows and classic toku, then give this a download, and be sure to seed for as long as you're able!

You're welcome, ml0606! Thanks for watching and commenting, it means a lot!
This is superb! My wife and I have been watching this show on and off for literally twenty years and we have always wondered what the heck the plot was! Thank you!!! (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))
Yeah, one reason we were confused is that Shishimaru used ninpo to henshin in Kaiketsu Lion Maru, yet in Fuun, he is reliant on a rocket pack. My wife and I speculated that in Fuun, it was Shishimaru's brother, or a reincarnation or something... We're glad you're here to sort everything out for us HenshinMan! (╹◡╹)
