The official subs for Utena, both the original DVD subs and the "updated" Blu-ray subs, are really fucking bad. They're really badly translated but only recently has there been an attempt at resubbing the show. Well, as it turns out, those untimed scripts hosted on [Ohtori.nu](https://ohtori.nu/scripts/) that Some-Stuffs are consulting for their resub were once part of a release from Live-eviL. These 13 episodes from the Apocalypse arc were presumably put together two decades ago as a stopgap until Central Park Media could finish butchering the series. These hardsubbed avis use the Utena Translation Project's scripts with additional translations (which seem bad) for the two insert songs in episode 27. It doesn't seem like any of the duel songs are translated. They just have occasionally incorrect romaji for whatever reason. I'm mostly uploading these files for the sake of preserving them (thank you metalotaku for getting them to me to begin with), but if anyone wants to watch these ancient pre-remaster DVD/TV encodes, knock yourself out. You'll at least get a more accurate translation.
Hooray! Now only the middle third of the show is stuck with absolutely abysmal translations for the time being!!!
...I mean unless something goes wrong Some-Stuffs will surely render this obsolete eventually, but for now I would hazard a guess that this is still far superior to any rip of the official subs, despite the obvious problem that the video quality will be vastly inferior here.
