just list some extensive filter chain you used in your description and people will instantly think you know what you’re doing. no comparison needed. bonus if you use hevc.
seriously though, i don’t think i’ve ever seen a comparison of any of sam’s encodes.

https://slow.pics/c/K9lr6AY3 comp between BDMV, sam, Reza and UCCUSS for Bookworm

I can’t even tell you how many times I have seen X person ask which video is better only for Y person to reply its a certain group/encoder because they are reputable without providing any actual comps, reasons or facts why its better.
Whats even funnier is half the people can’t even see the difference and just ask best release to sound authentic, only to blindly believe what other people tell them.
Its fine to ask for opinions like if all the encodes are kinda bad and have their own issues so you want to get insights, but at the end of the day its best to use your own eyes.

i dunno, i can usually tell from most comparisons. problem is they need to actually exist. it’s one thing to have a rule of thumb about which encoders are good, but to specifically recommend encoder x for anime y with no comparison seems stupid. i’ve even seen seadex switch an encode i actually put some effort into over to a release by a “known” good encoder the day it was released with no comparison linked. lmao.

UCCUSS: disqualified due to line darkening
Reza: disqualified due to detail loss in https://slow.pics/c/GE6dZTTg (denoising? aq-strength=0.68?)
[sam] is the last man standing.
EDIT: seadex agrees with me, yay
herkz
pretty sure every UCCUSS encode uses line darkening and sucks shit. dunno why people ever use them for remuxes.
