These tracks are synced to the Dragon Box Z, which are the Japanese DVDs of Dragon Ball Z released in 2003.
168 new Fuji TV tracks (+ all issues fixed & most of noise and buzzing cleaned).
Big thanks to Kei who shared these FujiTV tracks.
The audio tracks of the Japanese Dragon Box Z are not properly synced to the video. Sound effects are played later than they should (about 200 milliseconds in average). In order to fix that, we have calculated the difference (in milliseconds) between many video frames and their respective sound effects, for both parts of each episode. We’ve then shifted each track accordingly and called them “video synced”.
So the “audio synced” tracks would be tracks matching the offical sync from Dragon Box (with it’s sync issues)
Note that all delays that we calculated can be found in a spreadsheet
The following image (episode 101) illustrate the difference between the official sync and our fixed sync :
Episode 291 have Dragon Ball GT Next Episode Preview. If you use this track on Dragon Box Z, don’t forget to cut that NEP out.
Openings have the same timings as original Dragon Box (they didn’t really need to be shifted along with the rest).
The tracks from NBS have been converted from AAC 128kbps to FLAC for syncing purposes, so you may want to avoid converting them again.
Episode 125 has a part from Tokai starting at 17:47.
Opening and Endings are from Dragon Box Z R2J (better quality than Broadcast Audio, but not too much to make the episode quality sounds poor in comparison).
There are 40 next episode previews coming from Dragon Box because in the Broadcast Audio tracks, those episodes had shorten next episode previews because of another following preview for a movie or TV Special. We filtered these Dragon Box previews with iZotope to make them a bit clearer.
A huge thank to AnimeMaakuo, Kei17 and everyone that shared Broadcast Audio tracks. Also thanks to JySzE for his fixed encoding that allowed us to improve delays accuracy, and to everyone that helped in any way

Wow. 168 episodes have better quality since last version, or did I read that wrong?

@sangofe : You read it right :)

@Team-Mirolo Thanks for all the work you been doing all these years.
And lets hope next year your french release of dragon ball series come to life, moi15moi and i have been exchanging signs scripts and he did a awesome job to put them in french and improved them alot.
Are you planning on doing the filtered short nep’s like you did with db?
the db ones were posted in archive.org and they are still there if someone didnt saw it https://archive.org/details/db-broadcast-audio-short-nep-filtered
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
@correvlr : Yes moi15moi worked hard on them, as you did. I hope we’ll be able to release DB this year.
And yes I’ll upload the DBZ short NEPs on archive.org as well in some time.

Davirubs
are you going to synchronize the audios with db, dbz SelectaVision’s BDs?
correvlr
@Team-Mirolo just a side note, i know you copied the note section from old torrents, but the tag “DBOX NEP” in filenames doesnt apply for these release, because that next is not present in any filenames.
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
Davirubs : For DB probably not, for DBZ it’ll depend if their release worth it. And since it’s based on dbox, I don’t think it’ll need real sync, just shifting the audio at the beginning I guess.
@correvlr : Ah good catch I fixed it. Thx.
Gnosis
Wait so are all the tracks new or just the Fuji Tv?
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
@Gnosis :: Some Fuji not all. Just clic on “168 new Fuji TV tracks” hyperlink to see the list.

@Team-Mirolo: Thanks for all the hard work !! I’ve noticed that the Fuji track of ep 140 is out of sync, can you please verify? thanks!!
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
@Ichiro4000 : Damn, something gone wrong during the de-noise process I guess because the track before denoise (red) is OK

Thanks, I’ll upload a fix soon
Ichiro4000
@Team-Mirolo: No worries! Thanks again for uploading the fix!!
correvlr
@Team-Mirolo, probably the denoise values used werent the righ ones, so you should recheck in audacity at the end of each episode if they are in sync. Opening before and after
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
@correvlr Nothing to do with the de-noise itself, it’s most likely an unintentional cut/delete action of this part.

All other tracks have the same duration.

I saw that you uploaded the raw audio tracks as a pack in this torrent https://nyaa.si/view/1471529
But I think those are all in 16bit. If the Fuji TV audio tracks shared by Kei17 in 2021 that you mentioned are originally in 24/32 bit, then I would very much appreciate (if you still had the original untouched files) if you could upload them on nyaa. I don’t see that anyone has uploaded them. 24/32 bits versus 16 bits makes a difference to my ears that is very much worth the hard drive space for me, and I’m sure others will appreciate it as well.
Also I hope when you have updated this synced broadcast audio to the final version (if there ever will be one) that you will consider making one more version that is 24 bit for whichever audio tracks that were originally 24/32 bit.
Thanks so much for all of your hard work!
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
@mrbean : Sorry I don’t have the 32/24bit version on my HDD, and for this kind of old tape recording, it won’t make any difference.
You can try and compare a raw 32-bit 96KHz BA track with the same track converted to 16-bit 32KHz and you won’t hear any difference.
mrbean
Thanks, I just couldn’t help but ask about the original files. Thanks so much for uploading both the unsynced and synced uploads of the 16 bit from Kei 17.
There is apparantly no hardware that could play back 32bit without first converting to 24bit, but I’ll still keep 32bit if it is the original file. I was able to hear a very small difference at certain parts of the Ishikawa 32bit 96khz vs 16bit from AnimeMaakuo, such as a clarity in the birds chirping at the highest frequencies at the start of DBZ episode 1, but now iKaos has pointed out that there may have been an issue with that 16bit conversion, so I am now uncertain about it and I’ll have to check again one day.
Team-Mirolo (uploader)
@mrbean : It was definitely due to some issue somewhere, because you won’t be able to tell the difference between 32-Bit/24-Bit and 16-Bit, even for very high quality music. So for B.A it’s totally useless to keep files above 16-Bit.
And to elaborate on this here is an example from a music sample (downloaded on lindberg.no website)
24-Bit 96KHz : 24-Bit sample
16-Bit 96KHz downsample : 16-Bit sample
Good luck to hear any difference, because if you’re human you won’t.
But I’ll save you some time, you can “hear” the difference between these two tracks (i.e the “”""“quality loss”"""") here : 24-16 Bit Difference sample
Our ears are just not capable of hearing this. You can add amplification like 5dB or more and you’ll start to hear only some low background white noise.
Same comparison with TV SP2 B.A
24-Bit
16-Bit
Difference
TL;DR : Keeping BA over 16-Bit is useless.

I have tried to add the audio with mkvtoolnix to the dragon ball z BD Selecta but it is not synchronized. Can someone tell me how to do it? Thanks
Davirubs
can someone synchronize the audios with bluray Dragon Ball Z of SelectaVision?
Thanks
