1080 soon? Beside that, thx u for the bd version!
1080p never since this was animated at 720p
Could you turn up volume 1 of Vanitas no Karte please
>1080p never since this was animated at 720p Ain't that a bit sharper anyway?
depends on what you mean by "that"
Does that mean uploading 1080 raws or releases would be considered upscalig?
no, just pointless since you can upscale this on playback and it'll look the same (or better)
You can upscale it by using ravu or nnedi but to make it look the same as a proper upscaled release you'll need to use the higher versions probably 128nn or higher and you will need a powerful GPU to upscale in realtime. Also I'm all in on localization and removing honorifics but you are using "Mademoiselle" and "Monsieur" because setting is French but what you gonna do if the main characters travel to some other country and there are other non-French people using the same honorifics(san, sama, etc). You can't use the same for them. And if you switch to "Mister" and "Miss" for those characters it will be inconsistent.
It wouldn't be inconsistent. The idea of blanket translations and translating the same word the same way in all scenarions is honestly pretty stupid You think translation is a simple "japanese word x always means english word y" and that's not how anything works
It won't be inconsistent if he uses french titles only for those who should be speaking french. It would actually make more sense than having sama/senpai for everyone.
but how do i learn my jApAneSe cUlTure
>you will need a powerful GPU to upscale in realtime. sounds like a personal problem. i also watch it at the source resolution since i'm sitting close enough to my computer that 720p is more than large enough. so i don't even upscale on playback! >Also I’m all in on localization and removing honorifics but you are using “Mademoiselle” and “Monsieur” because setting is French but what you gonna do if the main characters travel to some other country and there are other non-French people using the same honorifics(san, sama, etc). okay, ignoring how the official subs did that (actually the official manga translation does too) and i just didn't change it, why would that be weird? >And if you switch to “Mister” and “Miss” for those characters it will be inconsistent. i wouldn't unless they're speaking formally. anyway they're clearly supposed to be speaking french canonically. all the writing is in french in the show and it's not like any characters have japanese names or are supposed to be from japan (or anywhere else).
