I am once again laughing out loud at the expense of the EOPs. You are more than two full weeks behind. Beyond foolish I say.
UnLucky
Localization bad! Netflix is way better since they drop honorifics and use western name ord- oh wait.
AdamEve
sorry but that is NOT better to remove honorifics, they are part of Japanese culture as much as air and water. and western names??? why bother watching anime at all …sigh
this IS an odd show and i have dropped it…too bizarre to follow.
Aryma
only cucked weebs like localization
GeezYourYoghurtIsNotYummyAtAll
ik this comment isn’t going to change anyone’s mind about this topic, but imo anyone who rants about either localisation or honorifics always being better comes off as a pretentious asshole. the presence of honorifics or lack thereof doesn’t determine the quality of subtitles.
Arin-san
I’m sorry, are there actually people out there who defend localization?
doraleous15
I’m so confused why are there releases of episode 3 + 4 from other uploaders?

@GeezYourYoghurtIsNotYummyAtAll
You are wrong, honorofics are ridiculous important, after all the change in a honorofic means different situations, and is a important part of the japanese culture.
Example: If someone uses “sama” in the end of the name, it implies great respect for the person mentioned, if you remove this then there is a lot of meaning lost, you can’t remove it if you truly want a good translation.
But well netflix sucks not only in this way, so i wouldn’t recommend this translation, i have a friend that subs komi san in my language in one day and its way better than this shit.
VipapkStudios
@UnLucky, then go watch NovaWorks version…
lolechka
@Lucio54 if you want to make a good translation, you can, idk, actually use language you translate to? or is english that bad it can’t even drop honorifics without conveying their meaning through things like formal or informal speech, using full names or nicknames? spoiler: that’s translators who can’t do this are bad, and english is pretty much fine with that
Lucio54
@lolechka They can cover to an extent but i to all honorofics i don’t know… and i am in the team that wants them to be preserved but thats my opinion.
UnLucky
@doraleous15 Netflix releases several weeks later than the Japanese broadcast, so the raw is available for other groups to translate if they want.
@VipapkStudios I mean, I am. My comment was in response to the weirdo saying somehow Netflix’s localization is better than Nova’s localization. If neither are “weeb” but one translates and typesets signs, it seems like an obvious choice to me. Unless someone can go through each line and prove one is more accurate than the other, or something.
@lolechka Trying to invent nicknames leads to abominations like “sissy” so I’d rather they not do that.
Nikelangelo
It’s not like you can’t hear the honorifics (unless your hearing is impaired in which case I am sorry) so what’s the problem?
raigrex
Why watch subs when you can learn japanese anyway
noZA_
@Arin-san Yes, they like to think of themselves as fansubbers but are only so when nobody has subbed something and even then caution for profanity inserted for no reason and other garbage, They call themselves Commie and worse of all they have supporters who watch their shit.
There’s other trash too but they stick out the most. Officially we got funimation. A top tier trash in terms of heavy localization and like Netflix they tend to not translate signs sometimes.
@Nikelangelo Please stop with that bs argument. I like to see you try your hand at a honorific heavy episode.
NightCrawler
Honorifics are a part of the Japanese “culture,” you can’t entirely translate them into English when some of its contexts don’t even exist in that language and the culture of the countries that use it.
You’re watching “Japanese” media about a “Japanese” story with “Japanese” characters and culture in it, WHY would you want it to have “Western” terms and “Western” name orders??? If you really like those stuff then just watch American cartoons or sth lel.
And don’t start the bs argument that “oh including honorifics means it’s a weak translation,” that’s just not it. Good translation depends on many other important things, I wouldn’t dare to say I know what they are cuz I’m not an English linguist or anything (and it’s not even my first language anyway).
Simple removal of honorifics and change of name orders doesn’t mean it’s a good translation, that’s just localization and it’s disgusting.

thank you!
